I'm worried it's going to be a mediocre gaming year. I haven't seen very many titles I'm excited about, and then ones I am, I'm afraid they're not going to meet my expectations.

That people will keep going about piracy like they did with Spore.

Seriously, making the legal version of a game less appealing than the pirated version doesn't help.

That Street Fighter IV won't be everything i could hope for.
It probably won't be, but it'll be an entertaining romp all the same.

And it'll be online! But not in arcades. Damn you, failing American arcade industry.

Anyways, I'm worried about the fact that I've only got a Wii and a computer with a horrible video card. And all the good games are coming out for every console but the Wii. But that's not much of a surprise, is it?
Madworld, The Conduit, the Kid Icarus game, the Kirby game, and No More Heroes 2 doesn't sound too bad.
Haven't seen anything for the Conduit, never played NMH1 (But I'll probably check it out sometime), not a big Madworld fan, and completely spaced on Kid Icarus and Kirby.

Great, now I'm paranoid that they'll destroy my childhood with that Kid Icarus game. I'm going back to my NES!

That this plague of new games that seem to center around purposefully stupid premises goes on further. I know its always been there, but with Bayonetta, Velvet Assassin and Bikini Zombie Slayers
Well, Oneechanbara was a budget title from Japan (was Japan-exclusive for quite some time, if I might add), so its stupid premise can be slightly forgiven. Bayonetta, on the other hand... Might also be forgivable if not for the fact that it starred Sarah Palin.

Im worried that '09 will be another Sequel year, or Remake year. Although things arent looking too bright, all the good ideas have been taken...

Bayonetta is the game the DMC maker always wanted to make so I give it a pass. Oneechanbara is I suspect intentionally retarded, Velvet Assassin is based on a real person. I'm more afraid that Wanted: Weapons of Fate sucks...God that game just has to work or I will cry.

Rushed games because the developers want to get their hands on money 'fore they go bankrupt.

My main concern is that Spike TV's video game awards will continue to be the definitive recognition of the industry's accomplishments, to the grave consternation of everyone in the industry. Seriously folks, can't we do better?
What you're going to have to do is set up a massive organization with other media outlets to put together something like the Academy Awards, only for video games. The Spike awards are supported by Gamestop so they only go by Sales Figures (I think)

Blizzard dividing up Diablo III into 5 different games. One for each class! It's like, an awesome single-player experience that's TOTALLY different for all FIVE classes! It's one game in five easy to purchase packages spread out over twenty years!

No, but seriously, couldn't you see that happening?

My main worry is the dwindling of the PC games industry, I've already given up hope on Dead Rising, and crossing my fingers that DRM doesn't get even more out of hand.

That they will screw up God of War 3.

That all of the games scheduled for release in '09 are pushed back to '10 (God forbid).
They didn't screw it up on the mobile phone - I think we're in the clear.
True. As soon as I heard God of War mobile, I immediately thought, "Holy Christ we're f***ed"

I also fear that the DLC for Fallout 3 on the PS3 won't come out.
Damn Sony for making me back the wrong race-horse.
The 360 has Fallout 3 DLC.
The Ps3 has God Of War III.

I think its clear who the winner is.
I see that.
But the PS3 is just upsetting at times when things like this don't come our way.
It's like a swift kick in the gonads.

Worried about the future of Factor 5.
Yes the last game they made was Lair, and yes it sucked hard.

But other than their last game, they've had a stellar track record. I guess its their fault for straying from Nintendo.

I'm also pissed because they've been at the top of the rumor mill list for being in development of the next Kid Icarus.

An Academy Awards-esque show for video games? Sounds absolutley wonderful.

I'm worried about more developers failing to realize that local co-op is something the people would love, and would serve as an extra incentive for the purchase of a game.

What will happen this year is that everybody will whine about sequels; which then are released and prove to be just as good, if not better in some ways then their predecessors (of course, some may suck, but that happens), followed by much gaming and enjoyment, followed by more whining about sequels in 2010 when this cycle repeats itself.

That Alan Wake and Fuel will suck.

Please, Remedy and Codemasters respectively, make these games as good as they deserve to be.
