Bioshock

super smash brothers

portal

medieval total war

A perfect game for me is a game where the only complaint I have is that there needs to be more of it.

My closest to a perfect 10 is Deus Ex. I thoroughly enjoyed the game and still find myself going through another play through here and there. As far as other games go, there are many games that are high up on the list, but very few that I can't find more than a few faults with.

Well, that's what a whole fraction means to me. If 10 out of 10 isn't perfect, what do they give perfect games?
There is no such thing as a 'perfect game'.

No such thing as a perfect game. They all have faults no matter how minor.

And really? MGS4 had no faults?

That's hilarious.
I said to you. Meaning what game have you played that you couldn't point out anything terribly wrong with it.Not saying the games are perfect but I couldn't think of anything to make the games better than what the devs gave me.

Whats wrong with MGS4 gameplay/storywise?

MGS4's fauxlosophy prevented the 10/10

plus it's horrible to control the weapons
I don't know what you are talking about man. I played the game as a stealth shooter, only killing when needed, I don't know how the game plays if you just go rambo but for the most part I just sneaked around with a laser sighted pistol putting people to sleep.

I don't have very many.

The original Portal is one of them, a masterpiece of a game that deserves more praise than it already gets (and it gets a lot).

Donkey Kong Country 2 is really up there. Not a perfect 10, but just shy.

The original, NA release of Final Fantasy 6j (aka, Final Fantasy 3) is probably the next closest, though not a perfect 10 by any means. It, however, has the dubious distinction of having a character (Terra) that would be later run through the "how to turn a formerly compelling female character into how crusty male Japanese traditionalists view women" template eventually used by Nintendo for Samus.

10 out of 10 doesn't mean it's perfect.
So what does it mean and why does it not mean something is perfect?

EDIT: Stoo-pid ninjas!
Thats why I said 'yours'. There is no such thing as a perfect game. Someone somewhere will not like a game for some reason. Thats why I asked which games are 10/10 for you, meaning what games are as close to perfect to you?

Kingdom Hearts 1. My only gripe with it is the jumping which is rather cluncky at times, but other than that, perfect.

In recent memory my only two 10/10 games are:

Red Dead Redemption

Portal

RDRedemption is just such a compelling story, to me, and I love the setting, characters, gun-play, and on, and on. I just love the game.

Portal, well, it's Portal 'nuff said.

There were some games that have come close. I would have said Uncharted 2 was pretty high up there, some of the gun battles got, well, outright boring, and I really wish they made you play with his Journal more -- it seems like such a great mechanic to give you bread-crumbs to figure out things -- but other than that I loved it (now that's an epic run-on sentence).

Metroid Prime. It's pretty much perfection in gamedesign, leveldesign, artdesign, storydesign. It's just perfection. I literally cannot explain it, you have to just play it and hate or love it afterwards.

Some games that get close are Vanquish, Super Castlevania, Demon's Souls and... maybe RECVX.
