I was getting some serious deja vu from this thread, until I checked and found out you've already posted the complete inverse of this thread. Eh, I guess speculating on which games you've never played will be better than some other games you've never played is marginally less baseless than speculating on which games will be bad, but get praised more than some completely arbitrary measure.

Looks at list.

Huh. Every one of them is a game you've previously created a thread for to sing the praises of, and are only for a select few genres at that.

Don't worry, I can accept that as a coincidence. 0_0
You're right. It seems like the hype-machine either has another victim, or someone's shilling hard. I just checked and it seems this user has been flooding the forums with threads that are either shallow praise of some game that may or may not have been released yet, shallow criticism of some game that may or may not have been released yet, or baseless speculation and prediction.
Eh, I guess it's not my place to question people's prediction-fetish.
I think he's one of the GameTrailers refugees. It will take some time for him to adjust to our ways, until then we'll just have to suffer though threads like this.

Hang on... what? You're giving awards to games that haven't even been released yet? That's madness, mate.
That's the triple-A mindset...the dreaded hype-machine. It's a train that is impervious to being suplexed I say!
No such animal.
With enough skill, cleverness and persistence anything can be suplexed. - Souplex 3/16

I'm with Souplex on this one. You can suplex anything if you work hard enough.

He is, and I doubt he'll adjust to anything. He's been like this since forever. :p

A little too soon.
For predictions, sure, I can understand, but I still think it's a little early for em'.
Also we've been getting a lot of threads about these kind of things recently. You'd think we'd leave stuff like this for the articles. :p

Still, I won't ignore that it can be at least a little entertaining.
So I'll throw mine in.

Personal GotY: Fire Emblem Fates/Persona 5/Dark Souls 3. (Haven't played either, but I hope they're good.)
Most enjoyed game so far: SUPER HOT.

While the first two at the top are not out, I hope they're enjoyable for me.
Dark Souls 3, I think that has the least chance for me to NOT enjoy it. Mostly because I've been playing the last two with a friend of mine. Jolly co-operation is a entertaining thing.

I'm waiting for:

- Dragon Quest VII (3DS)
- Shin Megami Tensei IV: Final (my 2016 GOTY, if they'll release outside of Japan this year)

This is a very silly idea. But oh well, here goes:

Best Game Overall: Zelda U
Next Best Game Overall: Dark Souls 3
Best Surprise Game That Easily Could've Been Shit: No Man's Sky
Best Game We All Knew Would Be Brilliant And Was: Uncharted 4
Best Handheld Game: Dragon Quest 8 3DS (I've been dying to play it and never got the chance)
Most Epic Game: FF15

Best Shooter: They'll all disappoint!
Best Open World RPG: Horizon Zero Dawn
Best XBone/PC game I want to play, but can't: Scalebound
Best Fighter: Naruto Shippuden Ultimate Ninja Storm 4
GOTY: Kingdom Hearts 2.8

Stardew Valley.

I make that decision based on the fact it's a game that came out this year that I have purchased. I have not yet played it though, but apparently it's very good.

Alright, since it's too early to fill the official categories, I will make some up.

The Hybrid 1st Monthly Annual Awards:

Game that made me yell "Why?!" the most: Pony Island.
MOST INNOVATIVE *BEEP BOOP* GAME OF ALL TIME: Superhot.
Most anticipated game by the Hybrid Council: Mesozoica. Please Mesozoica, bring back Dino Tycoons. Make it a thing.
Most promising mod: The Frontier for Fallout New Vegas. Pushing the Gamebryo engine to the limits, this mod promises drivable tanks and Vertibirds, as well as SPACE and a legendary amount of scripting.
Most "Oh yeah that exists" reception to a game release: The Walking Dead: Michonne
Most gratuitous use of medium level Let's Players in ads: Far Cry: Just the Hunts and Outposts.

And the nights most prestigious award, the March GOTY of the month, goes to....

Nobody yet.

No, it's the same guy from the "predict the most overrated games of this year" thread. In fact, now I have the candidates for that list!
