What are your games you gush over, but you can't find anyone else that does?

To this day, I've yet to meet another person irl who's even heard of Abe's Oddysee/Abe's Exoddus, let alone played it. But I love those games so much... D: jdsfndsfdsf!

To this day, I am the only person I have ever met that has played an Advanced Wars title and most people aren't even aware of that series' existence. I never thought freaking AW would be the series I'm the gaming hipster about, but apparently nobody else on the planet has ever heard of it.

most games for me actually. the majority of my friends are those annoying "extrovert" types who prefer to spend their time out having sex with girls than playing video games

Not alone since the last one I played was the one on the Gameboy advance and loved playing it non stop but as the years passed I lost it and slowly forgot about it but thanks to you I should go back and buy the other titles and remember the good times of turn based RTS.

Mass Effect: Yeah, I've yet to find anyone outside the internet who has actually even played the games other than me. Considering how popular the series is that's just mind boggling.

Mega Man X: This one I don't even see on the internet all that much. Mega Man X was my favorite game series as a kid. Up until 5 they were all pretty good. Unfortunately X5 introduced the horrendous hand holding and bloated dialogue that really started to ruin the series afterwards.

Dark Messiah of Might and Magic (the PC version, i'll explain why)

This game was essentially a very linear Elder Scrolls title, but had MUCH better first person combat. The voice acting, bar the main character, was aweful, the Story was so-so, and the challenges were a bit unbalanced, but it was just ... fun. Building up adrenaline to do kill moves, grabbing a guy from behind and cutting his jugular with a nice gross noise, and the environmental aspects of the combat came together to make an overall satisfying experience for me.

And the reason I prefer the PC version is because it is classless. You could go into magic, combat or utility (sneaking, hp, mana, etc.) But the console version made you choose a class and forced you to pick certain abilities at certain times.

Its also by Arkane Studios, who went on to make Dishonored, and you can see how they built from Dark Messiah. You could say that, in some ways, dishonored is partially a spiritual successor to Dark Messiah.

Crash Bandicoot and Ratchet and Clank. But maybe it's just on these forums. I hear good things about them, but I never hear gushing. I mean, R&C may have the most diverse weapon roster in history, some really fun gameplay, and some great characters. Which makes it sad that insomniac is making Resistance and Fuse, both two bland FPS titles.
Although I can see why Crash is forgotten, it was a great platformer in the time where platformers ruled, but now all we have is, ugh, Little Big Planet. This FPS era needs to go, I don't care which genre rules next, I'm just sick of shooting things. Which is a sentence I thought I would never say.

Okami. One of my favorite games of all time, and no one I talk to has even heard of it. Makes me slightly sad to know what they're missing out on.
That game is seriously awesome.

And long. At least 3 times I thought I had just beaten the final boss and then game tells me I haven't. It just says "the smoke rose out of the defeated boss to infect someone else, follow it".

I still own the PS2 version and I'm debating whether to get it in HD or not.
Awesome game, beautiful aesthetic, vibrant world full of cool characters (Especially the bored piece of paper, who is so grateful for someone to compete against he doesn't mind losing, and consequently dying), wonderful music (if not very memorable), awesome places I could explore over and over again.

I love how well it used the wiimotes' pointer, so the powers would work like Links' tools, but you could access and use any of them so quickly and easily, instead of going to an inventory screen all the time.

I loved how you could use the celestial brush to freeze time, look around, re-point the camera, and plan your next move, it felt weirdly dramatic, and gave a sense that Okami Amaterasu had a consciousness that worked differently to us mortals, outside of normal time and space.

Could it be that the world really is like a series of ink paintings to the gods?

And what does that make us, the players?

I feel that there isn't a whole lot of love on this site for DoTA 2. At least, I don't really see people who are as into it as I am very frequently.

Syndicate and Resident Evil 6. 2 games met with almost universal contempt (why do so many people hate Syndicate? The title? Seriously, I can understand people not liking Resi 6 but Syndicate is fucking universally awesome!). Whenever I metion I love the games to my gamer buddies they just scoff and say "well somebody had too!".

A couple weeks ago I would have included Manhunt but I've found a guy who is really into stealth games but can't afford a 360/PS3 so just plays old Splinter Cell and Hitman games as well as Manhunt which he loves, and we talk about it whenever we meet.

These two for me. Final Fantasy 13 does have its flaws, I can recognise that. But it does such a good job of story, character development and world building. If it didn't take as long to get into it it would probably have been much better received.
i have always felt that final fantasy 13 would have been much better received if it hadnt been called final fantasy. so much about it was so drastically different from other final fantasy and i think people were too busy comparing it to the previous games to be able to really appreciate the game. i feel it would have gotten much more approval from gamers if they saw it simply as a jrpg, rather than as a final fantasy game
Exactly, I fully agree. But then we get the problem that DMC has: can you call a game part of a series while changing everything that defines it? With Final Fantasy its even more important to ask that question since each game only has gameplay elements to connect them together. For that reason, I can't really fault veteran Final Fantasy players for being annoyed at FF13 since it does remove those key elements that defined the Final Fantasy games. FF13 is not a bad game in its own right, but it is a bad Final Fantasy game

Oh man, Abe's oddessy is such an amazing game! Its so unique and had such good level design. I remember not actually being able to finish it since it got so difficult and I just wasn't skilled enough at games to get through it. When the hd remake comes out this year I might revisit it.

I'm just really sad that Oddworld Inhabitants never managed to finish their plans of producing their five oddworld game series. I mean, stranger's wrath wasn't that bad, the bounty hunting stuff was pretty cool. I just really want to learn more about the Mudokons

I love Advance Wars. I've got AW2 on my phone and I can play it any time. To make you feel better, who's your favorite CO? I go Kanbei, superior firepower.

Age of Mythology. Best RTS ever. Yet none of my friends ever played it.
Mate, I will gush as much as you want. AOM is and always will be my favorite game ever. Even the expansion was really good. Ahhh nostalgia.
Another one for me is Lord Of the Rings Battle for Middle Earth. It is absolutely great. The war of the ring mode is excellent, yet it's not on sale digitally or physically because their rights ran out. Absolutely shameful because I lost my disk, and I can't find it anywhere.

I adore Odin Sphere. I gush over that game regularly and play every few months. I love Mana Khemia (the first not the abomination that was the second one)and the Altiler series. and almost anything from Megaten: Digital Devil Saga 1&2, Demon Summoner 1&2, Nocturne, Persona EVERYTHING, Strange Journey etc. And I'll throw my support behind the Sly Cooper series and Myst

Star Wars Republic Commando, Battlefront 2, Spec Ops: The Line, Brothers in Arms: Hell's Highway.
Some of the best games that no one talks about.
