Not alone since the last one I played was the one on the Gameboy advance and loved playing it non stop but as the years passed I lost it and slowly forgot about it but thanks to you I should go back and buy the other titles and remember the good times of turn based RTS.mezorin said:To this day, I am the only person I have ever met that has played an Advanced Wars title and most people aren't even aware of that series' existence. I never thought freaking AW would be the series I'm the gaming hipster about, but apparently nobody else on the planet has ever heard of it.
Awesome game, beautiful aesthetic, vibrant world full of cool characters (Especially the bored piece of paper, who is so grateful for someone to compete against he doesn't mind losing, and consequently dying), wonderful music (if not very memorable), awesome places I could explore over and over again.Father Time said:That game is seriously awesome.Nickthequick said:Okami. One of my favorite games of all time, and no one I talk to has even heard of it. Makes me slightly sad to know what they're missing out on.
And long. At least 3 times I thought I had just beaten the final boss and then game tells me I haven't. It just says "the smoke rose out of the defeated boss to infect someone else, follow it".
I still own the PS2 version and I'm debating whether to get it in HD or not.
Exactly, I fully agree. But then we get the problem that DMC has: can you call a game part of a series while changing everything that defines it? With Final Fantasy its even more important to ask that question since each game only has gameplay elements to connect them together. For that reason, I can't really fault veteran Final Fantasy players for being annoyed at FF13 since it does remove those key elements that defined the Final Fantasy games. FF13 is not a bad game in its own right, but it is a bad Final Fantasy game00slash00 said:i have always felt that final fantasy 13 would have been much better received if it hadnt been called final fantasy. so much about it was so drastically different from other final fantasy and i think people were too busy comparing it to the previous games to be able to really appreciate the game. i feel it would have gotten much more approval from gamers if they saw it simply as a jrpg, rather than as a final fantasy gameMagicite Spring said:These two for me. Final Fantasy 13 does have its flaws, I can recognise that. But it does such a good job of story, character development and world building. If it didn't take as long to get into it it would probably have been much better received.
Oh man, Abe's oddessy is such an amazing game! Its so unique and had such good level design. I remember not actually being able to finish it since it got so difficult and I just wasn't skilled enough at games to get through it. When the hd remake comes out this year I might revisit it.Maevine said:To this day, I've yet to meet another person irl who's even heard of Abe's Oddysee/Abe's Exoddus, let alone played it. But I love those games so much... D: jdsfndsfdsf!
I love Advance Wars. I've got AW2 on my phone and I can play it any time. To make you feel better, who's your favorite CO? I go Kanbei, superior firepower.mezorin said:To this day, I am the only person I have ever met that has played an Advanced Wars title and most people aren't even aware of that series' existence. Mate, I will gush as much as you want. AOM is and always will be my favorite game ever. Even the expansion was really good. Ahhh nostalgia.ShinyCharizard said:Age of Mythology. Best RTS ever. Yet none of my friends ever played it.

This is what a Star Trek game should be, commanding a ship from the bridge, issuing orders to officers and solving problem both tactical and diplomatic. I have never run across anyone else who knows of it, let alone has played it.
