That's a TPS, not an FPS. ;p
Shame Black-Cell never asks for both the countless times he makes these threads. This thread could be more interesting.
Speaking personally, defining a TPS is a bit hard. There's plenty of games that have TPS mechanics (Resident Evil, Dead Space, Mass Effect, etc.), but I wouldn't define them as shooters.

I actually whipped up a top 10 TPS list, but I'm a bit reluctant to show it off, because not only can I only call the top 4 games "good" (as opposed to just "okay"), but there's very little variety in the list (i.e. 7 of the games are accounted for by Gears of War and Army Men).

Ehm, Halo CE, Halo 2, Halo Reach, Halo ODST, Halo 3, Crysis, Crysis warhead, Call of duty 4: MW, Borderlands 2, Fallout: new vegas.

Not really in any particular order, besides the fact that Halo CE has place 1.

Oh yeah!

Any 'Best FPS campaign' list that doesn't have AVP2 on it is just a lie. 3 excellent campaigns for the price of 1!
Never played AVP2, so I am liar I guess.
Without looking my top videogames list I created, these are the games I can remember. Not a particular order:

Quake 2
GAME OF THE YEAR: 420BLAZEIT
Shadow Warrior *new version*
DOOM II: Hell on Earth
Gun Godz
Fistful of Frags
Painkiller
Duke Nukem 3D
Quake
DOOM *2016*

My memory is rusty and i have trouble ranking things so heres a list of games i enjoyed for one reason or another.

1)Half life 2
2)Quake 2
3)Bioshock
4)Call of duty 2
5)Metro
6)Wolfenstein New Order
7)AvP 2
8)Chronicles of Riddick: Escape from Butchers bay
9)Painkiller
10)Return to castle Wolfenstein

Honorable mentions to: F.E.A.R. which didn't make the list for pretending to be a horror game which didn't work for me at all. And Dishonored which i can't really call a shooter since i could count the numbers of shots i fired in that game on my fingers.

Now I'm curious. Was it any better than the N64 and old PC version?
In three words: Not particularly, no.

It was a basic/decent fps with some really unpolished mechanics with what could have been a fucking incredible game if it was polished more. I can say it actually has a lot of things you now find in modern FPSes.

But hey, you get to hear Ron Perlman as Slade. And I don't mean Teen Titans.

Go pick it up if you find a cheap copy or just really want to murder stuff with flamethrowers and bows and knife Press RT/R2 To Kil, and a very situational mechanic of having the local wildlife duke it out with the enemies. When I think about it, it's better than I'm saying but makes me sad that it could have been even better with more effort. I hope it gets a Steam release eventually.

EDIT: Actually when I think about it further, if you like Predator and don't mind some minor and major faults, you'd probably enjoy the game. Channels Predator at points so hard, you feel like it's a Predator game itself.

Further EDIT: Actually, the game is worth it for Perlman alone.
