So its been about a week since I finished Mass Effect 3 and while the ending wasn't exactly...up to standards with the rest of this amazing series it still hasn't spoiled the rest of the games for me. I've had a bit of time to reflect back on the rest of the trilogy and have come up with a top 3 missions. They are:

1.Rannoch- Iv'e always found the Quarian Geth history fascinating and the side mission with Legion and the geth consensus did great in revealing more of that history. The climax with Legion, the geth, and Quarians was so damn awesome and intense that I actually held my breath...plus I also romanced Tali in ME 2 and 3 so that scene after was incredibly touching.

2. Virmir- For me had a really fantastic mix of intense emotional situations (Wrex's confrontation and of course having to decide between Kaiden and Ashley) and revelations (Sovereign...nuff said)

3.Suicide Mission- I think this was the one true mission where your decision's actually made a tangible difference (i.e. didn't do side missions for certain character that one might die) plus it was just awesome!

So those where mine what were yours?

1 - Terchunkan (Mass Effect 3 Geonophage mission.) Mission itself was decent in terms of game play, but the culmination of all the Geonophage history and Mordin was very well done.

2 - Virmir - For the reasons above mostly, plus it made sure you couldn't have everybody alive.

3 - Palvans Moon - Not great really in terms of fighting, but the sight of you fighting some of the Reaper's minions with the sight of a Reaper in the distance and Palvan burning in the back ground was just epic.

virmire - as stated, lots of decisions and getting to take on "you know who" and wipe that smug look off his face as he has to fly off is very gratifying.

suicide mission- seeing ALL YOUR DECISIONS ACTUALLY MAKE A DIFFERENCE (fuck you me3 ending) and conclude in a wonderful battle where you get to piss off harbinger, and get to to give a fuck you to cerberus. quite fulfilling.

me2 acquiring archangel- when you first get him, i find that mission alot of fun (plus taking on all the gangs in omega), especially if you have a sniper equipped, that bridge part is a hell of alot of fun.

Virmire - An epically long mission. Loads of decisions, a cool boss fight, loads of character interaction, stunning surroundings, and great combat and action.

Attacking the Citadel - Fighting up the side of the Citadel in ME1 was exhilirating, visually stunning, and tactically challenging. It is one of the stand out moments of the series for me.

Priority: Tuchanka - SO MANY EMOTIONS. Such a long mission, great character interaction, great visuals, and the emotions with that mission were just so good. It felt perfect.

1. Priority Tuchanka. Epic, well-paced fighting, amazing visuals and cutscenes. And Mordin. *sniff*

2. Investigate Collector Ship. Again, great pacing in combat, and scenery porn/gorn.

3. Priority: Rannoch. Good story, and very epic after the other missions concerning Rannoch. Great conclusion, even though the Reaper battle was a bit stupid and tedious.

1: Geth Consensus...Mass Effect meets Tron! And because you finally get the full back story of the Geth vs Quarian war...and

Turns out the Quarians were a bunch of assholes and the Geth were completely innocent. Imagine that.

2: Lair of the Shadow Broker. If you want me to pick a specific chunk: the part where you're actually at the SB's ship. I love the part where you finally get to a door you can enter and you have to defend the position while the doo-dad is hacking.
Shepard: "Don't you miss the days when you could just smear omni-gel all over a lock and it would open?" xD

3: Ilos/Retake the Citadel. Good action all the way through, a good chunk of plot development with Vigil, and of course making Saren blow his frickin' brains out is always fun. :3

1. Suicide Mission. Before I played it the first time I actually felt like I had to prep myself up and get ready and I spent most of the mission with tingles down my spine.

2. Genophage Cure. The first mission that made me realise how epic Mass Effect 3 is and how high the stakes were and the kind of measures necessary to defeat the Reapers.

3. Virmire. The first time in any game I actually had to put down my controller and think about something in a game and losing Wrex really hit me hard on my first runthrough.

Suicide Mission beats all.

The most exhilarating, thrilling moment I had in any entertainment medium since the Rohan Riders joined the fight for Minas Tirith.

Grissom Academy. I confess to reading the Mass Effect books. Yeah, go ahead and judge me. I probably deserve it. But it made Grissom Academy even better because we got to finally see Khalee Sanders in-game. Seeing Jack again was even better, especially with her growth as a character. Hearing one of the students shout, "I will destroy you!" was a fantastic moment.

Lair of the Shadow Broker. I still say this has the best action in the series. And it turned Liara into a good character, rather than just the rather shallow awkward nerd she was in the first game.

Virmire. Aside from the Mako section, this was pretty perfect in my opinion. Lots of story, lots of action, and choices with consequences. The location was beautiful as well. That conversation with Sovereign was hair-raising, and Saren as a character was deepened a ton here.

Special Mention, because it will be overlooked: The Negotiation (Mass Effect): This was a Renegade only mission in the first game. The Alliance basically uses Shepard. They send him in as a "negotiator", but fully expect Shepard to kill Lord Darius and all of his people. It's both satisfying to follow the Renegade and Paragon path here. Though taking the Paragon path is really hard, as Darius is one of the most unlikeable assholes in the series.

No love for Noveria? I absolutely love the political backstabbing you get to do at the beginning, followed by one of the better Mako sections, and culminating in an Aliens like shootout in the facility.

The final mission in ME1 of course, shooting Geth and saving the galaxy while Sovereign is doing his Reaper stuff in the background, awesome. Not to mention that moment when Shepard comes out of the rubble with that smirk and the great credits song.

- The last mission on ME1, specifically the portion where your outside the citadel, walking up the wall.

- Mordin. -Spoiler- Wait, he's not a mission. Well his suicide mission on Tuchanka. I... I... I had manly tears for the man.

-And here comes the flak. The last mission of ME3 especially the talking to your squad mates at the end, and the wind down of the ending. Also, the amazing view from the Citadel.

Noveria (ME1)- I liked the environments and how you end up dicking their stupid law enforcement over anyway XD
Derelict Reaper (ME2)- Cuz Legion. Case Closed
That mission where Legion takes you inside the Geth Server (ME3)
(In case you haven't noticed, I like Legion
A lot)

My picks

Rannoch which I felt the last few minutes of this where made even better since I had shepred romancing Tail.

Sucide mission I played therw this twice and found it to be better when you make the wrong choices.

The final mission of opertion overlord I admit that there are missions that are probaly better done and arent so predectiable but the reason I pick it as one of my faviorties is the ending which I find to be quiet hauntuing as the last scene fades to black.

I no longer have good memories about this series.
You no longer have good memories of the series because the last 5 minutes of the last game was bad? Get a grip.

1. Rannoch. I loved being on the Quarian homeworld and the decision at the end was one of the most difficult choices I had to make in the entire series.

2. Palaven's Moon. I thought fighting on the moon while seeing the Reapers in the distance and Palaven burning in the background looked epic. Plus it's where you reunite with Garrus.

3. The Suicide Mission. I loved fighting my way through the collector base while the epic theme song played. Plus it was great to give a big "fuck you" to the Illusive Man when you decide to destroy the base.

Even though none of my choices were from the first Mass Effect I'd like to point out that I think that the first game was by far the best in the series.

1) Rannoch - it was just awesome. I'm a big fan of the Geth/Quarian dynamic and whatnot, and I thoroughly enjoyed the story involved here.

2) Palaven - Probably the most "epic" bit in the whole series IMO. It just felt perfect.

3) Virmire - Almost solely for the conversation with Sovereign. That bit is my favorite moment in any piece of media I have even witnessed. It did everything right. It's just unfortunate that ME3 shit all over it.
