Actually, I switched surf for water spout, since Kyogre has a ton of health, and it has more power than surf, plus drizzle.
Then I'm sorry but "ur doin it rong" - At least in an extremely competitive environment, which you seem think yourself in since you are using your (super god tier) Pokemon to rip apart other peoples "favourites" posted, In a proper competitive scene, there just is not enough space in the 4 move slots for water spout.

Edit - Wow, sorry that made me sound like a real dick, but I can't be bothered to change it either so just try not to read too much into it as an attack.
No problem. The thing is, surf hurts your own pokemon as well, and I don't usually do a rain dance team or water absorb stuff. well, maybe with that new bulb item.. oh, I usually have my Tyranitar with me, and it knows surf.

Yea I getcha, at the end of the day it is all down to preference anyway since it is just a game, and games are for fun, in one vs one though where you can freely spam surf it really is just broken on a rainy day Kyogre even without massive amounts of care taken when EV training.
Point is, I was never disagreeing with the thunder use part, just making sure you don't totally forget about surf which really is fantastic, both moves along with Ice Beam are always on my competitive Kyogre set for the like... one battle a century that Uber tier are allowed (the fourth usually being Clear mind for 1HKO goodness from his insane SPATK). I'm have not gotten around to delving into generation 5 yet, but there are a few that look promising but I can't imagine anything more disgustingly powerful than Kyogre who is already game breaking enough.

5th gen doesn't really bring anything super good. there's a water move that burns, an ice move that has a 100% critical hit chance, and dive comes back.

The first two are easy:

Charizard

and Lugia.

The third I would have to say

Groudon.

That is a shame, I do wish they would stop dicking around and mix up some of the type combinations a little more the game is already terribly unbalanced so it is not like that should be much of a factor. Give us some damn Ice/Fire/Electric/Rock/Dark/Bug + Dragon types, or a psychic fireball and an Iceman wrestler, anything to mix it up a little. I mean its all well and good having a set formula but starting every game with either fire/grass/water and then walking into the bushes to find Ratatta/Sentret/Zigzagoon/Bidoof or Pigey/Hoothoot/Tailow/Starly really does not do well to make it feel like a new game every generation.

Espion, Kingdra, and Salamance. If you count legendaries sub out Kingdra for Lugia.

I don't know if I could make a top 3, but I do know my favorite is Sneasel.
I could probably make a top 10. (not in specific order, of course)

psychic/fire
ground/dark
dark/fighting
normal/grass
normal/fighting
bug/electric
bug/fire
water/ghost
ghost/fire
ground/electric
ground/ghost
dark/steel
dark/dragon
grass/steel
dragon/electric
dragon/ice
dragon/fire
pure flying

Looks like a healthy amount of new combinations to me. There were a lot more oddities this gen too, like bug/steel. Either way, a lot of Pokemon have always been based off animals as if they were animals in our world. The first route is often a generic grassland or forest-like path that consists of bugs, plants, rodents, birds, etc. I just think they're keeping it grounded.

I don't recall surf damaging your own Pokemon in 2v2 matches up to the 4th Generation. I haven't played the 5th yet, but as far as I remember, Earthquake was the only attack I can think of off the top of my head that damages every Pokemon except the one using it. My memory could be a bit muddy though, I don't think I really used Surf much in 2v2 matches and I've never done anything with Pokemon outside of the single-player stories.

OT: Well, the Pokemon you could always find on my teams (as long as they're available in a given region) during the first/second Elite Four match-ups are:
Gyarados

Haunter

and the resident sub-legendary type that usually sits right before the legendaries in the Pokedex

I like most of the starters equally, and the legendaries from the 1st/2nd/3rd generations equally (discounting the three Regis because I thought they were pretty stupid. Cool way to get them though.). Diamond/Pearl/Platinum added far too many legendaries in my opinion, but the models for Dialga/Palkia/Giratina are still rather nice. Also, in the remake of Silver for the DS, I have a badass level 70 Pikachu that will wreck anything as long as it attacks first.

Charizard is my all time favorite. Hands down.
For number two... I've always loved Mewtwo, even excluding his power, he's an awesome looking Pokemon.
Hm... number three is hard but I'd have to say... maybe Scizor. It varies though.
