1. Phantasy Star Online (seriously, no one has mentioned this yet?)
2. Ragnarok Online (Meh, it's gotten better and there's always private servers)
3. Front Mission Online/Dungeon Runners (both MMOs that died way too early)

1/2 Tied with Phantasy Star Online (My first MMO), Final Fantasy XI, (The one I played the longest)
3. World of Warcraft (Jumped on the bandwagon after FFXI got impossible to progress)

The old SWG. Back when we had to walk to Tusken Fort.

Those were the days....

Oh, and WoW for it's roleplay community. They made the game worth playing.

Those were the only two I played. =3

That does look pretty cool.

WoW
I played Runescape for awhile, but its grinding isn't even disguised so you have to be really determined.
I played guild wars for a small amount of time and I sorta liked it.

3: Runescape (before Jagex saw fit to remove everything that made the game barely passible)
I agree. Jagex really ruined the game with their little "update" to prevent gold farming.

I've only played Lineage 1, Maplestory and Runescape.

The only one I'd play again is Lineage. Maplestory was fun for a little bit, and I couldn't be bothered to do 2 quests after finishing the tutorial.

Even though may indie MMOs like that often don't get finished, I have a unique hope for it.

Instead of AoC, try something good.
What in the world? Did you actually play it? If so, was it the combat that was actually unique, interesting, dynamic, and fun that turned you away? Is it the years and years of pressing one button to execute a technique really turned you away from one of the better combat experiences on the market?

The only bad thing about AoC was the lack of content in the 40-50 range and again at the 70-80 range. Content has been added to the 40-50 range and they are working on the 70-80 content. It's a solid game and a good first MMO experience. Much more acceptable than any other MMO on the market currently.

As for my top three:

1. EQ.
2. UO.
3. DAoC.

I don't know about any others, but I like World of Warcraft. Not because I would personally ever play it but because my wife plays it avidly and this gives me a great deal of time each day to pursue my personal hobbies and/or gaming interests without her bugging me.

That's the point. You don't do anything once you are 20+. Combat... combat is good, but you can't sell a game just thanks to good combat system.

And boobs.

1- WOW
2- FFXI Online
