Pretty much this except Runescape is only becoming better IMO.

LOTRO is one yu should check out, simply because in the short time I played it it had one of the nicest communitys I'd ever come across. Its a very...calm game I suppose, not that exciting to be honest just...*long deep sigh of satisfation*

I still play Guild Wars, I don't understand. What do you mean "before it died" ?
I think he means before Anet stopped releasing new content.
I see, but it's not like they aren't patching it anymore. Besides, how many expansions does somebody need before they simply sit back and say "Okay, just start working on GWII now please". Guild Wars expansions were all really good anyway, unlike some games like Battlefield 2, and Dawn of War; where the more expansions were made the less they cared about the product and support.

1) Eve Online - it wins the place because I played Eve far longer than any other MMO.
2) Anarchy Online - Comes in at #2 because it was my first. That said, it was fairly bad and soured me to the genre as a whole.
3) Warhammer: Age of Reckoning - Has the notable distinction of being one of only three games I have played past the trial period. This is probably because I can just forgoe the whole PVE grindfest and go straight to shooting other players in the face.

1. Everquest (Original

I have to put it up there because I played it for years. I never really got into high level raiding but it was a lot of fun and my necro probably cleared every single low level dungeon in the game before I quit.

2. Guild Wars (Pre Nightfall)

I quit due to a complete collapse of my guild and all personal relationship around the time Nightfall was released so I don't feel competent to judge it. I loved the skill system because you never really discarded a skill, they all became more powerful as you leveled so it allowed you to create some amazing combinations. The instanced play was also nice after years of calling camps in EQ and being KS'd around every corner.

3. Planetside

I played for months then quit after a patch screwed up the battle finding system. It was amazingly fun and I'd probably still be playing if that hadn't happened (and if they had actually fixed it within a month but after a month of not being able to find big battles I was done). The scope and number of options were amazing and I loved grouping and actually planning an attack.

You got that right, the only reason I ever played runescape was to kill people at make them loose their all stuff and laugh, then they screwed that wtf?

I hate to be the one to point this out, but Archlord didn't get the nickname ARCHLAG for no reason. I played AL for about a year, sank real money into Chantra and had to quit after the lag got to the point that even in the Dungeons you could barely move for the lag.

News Report: Runescape now has full world Pking servers allowing players to fight nearly anywhere. Players lose their items and, while you don't get their items, you do get good drops.

Just another sign that anything CodeMasters ever gets it's hands on turns to feces.

It probably didn't help that I cursed them and all their unborn children for canceling Dragon Empires.

I've never had a problem with Archlord being lagy at all, my friend does but his computer sucks so that doesn't even count.

EDIT: I wanted to say Hellgate but doesn't seem like mumorpuger to me
Hellgate makes me ill and I found Tabula Rasa incredibly boring. I did only play it until about level 10, though that was totally a long enough chance for it to prove itself worthy. I think it's biggest mistake is having only one playable race.

I would say Tabula Rasa is just as boring as anyother mmorpg (GW excluding).

About Hellgate, I just think its fun, hack and slash. And i'm glad I got there after the 1.2 patch because I played it in a friend's computer in beta and was sick too.

The thing is about these two games. They are completely unrefined, the devs get such a rush to finish the games (probably not their fault) and send them out swarmed with more bugs than a zerg hive. Plus as I learned about TR there was no end content... and that IS a killer in any MMORPG.

I think both games had great potential. Sadly they are dyeing out.

EVE Online.

It's an aquired taste, I'd suggest checking what it is like more carefully and then if it's your cup of tea trying it out. Otherwise go play something like Darkfall when it comes out instead.

1.) Eve Online
2.) Eve Online
3.) Eve Online

RIP Planetside

As Amplify said, Eve Online is a VERY unique experience and I think the best description I've ever heard about Eve was that it was distinctly "European." Coincidently, a lot of the players you run into are either from the UK, or they're Russian.

1) KwonHo (sure it wasn't very popular, sure there weren't many styles, but Damn, this was the most fun i ever had in a game. Too bad it was closed.)
2)Atlantica ( just check it out, it's badass. The PvP tournaments are sweet)
3)Lineage 2 ( Because i had lots of fun playing it with my cousin, otherwise it wouldn't fit in this list)
