I really hope this thread is not overdone.

Anyway, mine are:

1. Dead Leaves
2. Akira
3. Shoot em' up
4. Airplane!
5. I, Robot

Yes I know, I have a shallow taste in movies.

What are yours?

Oh yeah, three foreign films on my list. I'm just that pretentious.
Three of mine are also foreign!

Dead Leaves and Akira (Japan)

Shoot em' Up (England)

Did you know Kick-Ass was actually made in England?

Hmmmm.... 5 eh? I'll give it a go....

Oldboy
The Lion King
Black Hawk Down
The Departed
Pan's Labyrinth

I think you could ask me again tomorrow and at least three of them would be different, I've seen a lot of great films.

1. The Lord of The Rings: The Fellowship of The Ring
2. The Lord of The Rings: The Two Towers
3. The Lord of The Rings: The Return of The King
4. Hot Fuzz
5. Men in Black II

I don't watch too many movies, is it noticeable?

Oh wow, I forgot about that film. Hmmm... it's only been a minute and already I'm rethinking my 5... damnnit.

Surely you don't think Fellowship is the best of the three? It's just so.... boring. Especially the extended edition, I'm glad they cut out those scenes!

Edit:

Yes. Didn't notice you'd written that, please forgive my earlier statement if it seems rude.

I didn't find it boring at all. I loved the load of different places it showed, from the Shire, to Bree, to Rivendell, to Moria, to Lorien. Not that they were bad, but the later films didn't show nearly as much variety. My biggest reason for liking it best though is that it contained the Moria sequences, which were the best parts of the trilogy IMO.

Now there's an anime I never thought I'd see anyone mention, in any context... nonetheless as a favorite. If nothing else, it would seem you've certainly got unique tastes, though I must agree with you on your second choice, Akira is one of my favorites.

OT:
1)Mushishi (the live action adaptation by Katsuhiro Otomo [who, if you'll note, was the writer of the manga for and director of the film Akira])
2)Ikiru
3)Watchmen
4)Saw
5)Death Note (the live action film, not the series, which I loved too, but it doesn't really count as a movie)
