What are your top boss fights ever?

Stumbled upon this top 10 list of boss fights [http://thatsovietguy.com/top-10-boss-fights-in-video-gaming-history] and started to think, what are the most badass and memorable boss fights?

Funny enough it's almost all bosses from DMC3 and MGS1

But in fairly recent games I don't remember any... well if you can classify the flashback sniper sequence on COD4 as a boss fight

What are yours?

Well, I gotta say the most memorable boss fight for me is Ares, in the first God of War. In God Mode (the hardest), I manage to kill him without him touching me once. It's the friggin' fight with all the berserk Kratosses just before that's really tough.

I very much enjoyed fighting some of the bosses is Batman: Arkham Asylum. Sure, they're easy for the most part but they're fun. The joker's taunting combined with environment effects and whatnot makes for some very interesting on-your-feet thinking.

Recently, I found the final gig of GH Warriors of Rock to be awesome. Not a boss fight per se, but similar, and rocking.
Also, The end boss of Mass Effect 2. Say what you like, it looked awesome, and fighting it was too.

Chrono Trigger.
Pretty much every boss in that game was epic but the final boss was possibly my favourite part of the entire game.

There are plenty of badass boss fights in gaming, but what about those bosses that make your pulse quicken for sheer difficulty?

The first time I faced a Tigrex in Monster Hunter I had to change my underwear.

First let me say I hate boss fights with a passion, they're almost always the worst part of any game because they contain clunky scripted events that break immersion rather than enhance it, not to mention the frustration factor....

And yeah actually i've got nothing.

Boss fights aren't traditionally such a big part of PC gaming as console gaming, and any I've come across tend to get suppressed from my memory as traumatic events anyway.

I'm gonna say, the fight against Wesker in Resident Evil 5.

Why?
Because I was playing co-op with my husband, and we just couldn't figure out how to kill him. We'd expend all our ammo (rockets/grenades/whatnot), and he'd still be standing

So after somewhere in the neighbourhood of 25 deaths, we just said "fuck it, lets run in there and knife him to death! I'm sick of this fight!"

And it worked on the first try. I'm not even joking.
The fight wasn't a surprise, at all, and in single player Sheva yells to you "HEY, THERE IS HIS WEAK SPOT", but for the two of us, that fight was just so memorable and frustrating. That counts, right?

But for actual, scripted awesome fights... Psycho Mantis was just badass.

Golbez in FFIV DS, the battle where you get Rydia back.

The DS version because that time around, he actually had enough HP to qualify as a boss fight, rather than dying after Rydia's first summon.

The best boss fight ever is undeniably the last boss of Yoshi's Island (GBA).

It helps that an awesome guitar riff plays as you're fighting and the world is collapsing around you.

Its a toss up between GOW boss battles and DMC

Devil Trigger Dante vs Devil Trigger Virgil

Kratos vs Hades was brutal and epic at the same time

Lesser known PS2 game called Bujingai had some nice boss battles.

God of War series - Ares, Hydra, Cronus, Posiedon.

Metal Gear series - The End, Crying Wolf, REX VS' RAY.

Resi - Final battle with Wesker (only because it took me and a friend about an hour to do).

FFX - Braskas Final Aeon.

I think that's about all the major ones.
