Oh so many aren't what they used to be. Off the top of my head I'll say Coldplay, Linkin Park, and Red Hot Chili Peppers..

Well discuss bands/artists that you think aren't nearly as good as they used to be :D

1. Avenged Sevenfold. used to be a great band, then when they released City of Evil I lost all faith in them.

2. Atreyu, same situation as A7X, their first 3 albums were great then Lead Sails (A Paper Anchor) was just...horrible.

3. Eminem, his older stuff was sheer brilliance, I have no idea what happened.
are you telling me you like SCREMO avenged seven fold better? you sir need to get your brain checked out, city of evil was one of their better albums.

Any way, Eminem is now shit, I think maroon 5s latest song is shit, um lets see, I don't know most of the bands I like before simply quit making songs, or they actually made good songs, the new evanescence song is actually good.

They weren't screamo >.> they were metalcore. There's a difference. Just because music has screaming in it doesn't make it screamo. Screamo would be bands like Senses Fail or Silverstein.
obviously that question was rhetorical and obviously I was using an exaggeration to prove my point; there's not point in arguing over whether this music is better than that since its all subjective, I never had the intention to sway you, just wanted to point out your ludicrous taste in music.
My taste ludicrous? Yeah that's funny coming from someone who likes Maroon 5. I'm not saying mine is better, but don't call my taste ludicrous when yours is equally questionable.
Again, taste of music is subjective, and again, my response was not warranted with another response. You are simply tried to use a cheap tactic to grab at anything in order to legitimize what you like, which I am sorry to say didn't work, your taste in music is still ludicrous, and there is nothing wrong with liking maroon 5, I doubt you even know who they are, if you did, then you would have obviously liked their music enough to look up their name.

Calling someones taste ludicrous is just begging for a response and I also know who they are because I have friends who listen to them.
Saying "I also know who they are because I have friends who listen to them" is like saying "I'm not racist because I have black friends" You don't, and it's a farce excuse any way. Also I was not begging for a response, I would have explicitly said that if I was, instead I said the exact opposite. Read before you post please.
I've heard plenty of songs by them to know who they are. Calling someone's taste ludicrous is pretty much wanting them to respond. Do you just expect them to not defend their taste in music? If someone called something you like stupid or crazy would you defend it or just not respond at all?
Again I doubt you have ever heard of them, your point of saying "my friend listens to them" has now turned into "I've heard plenty of songs by them to know who they are", and its becoming painfully obvious you were lying the whole time, why would you listen to plenty of songs by them if you don't like them? Oh, and since it seems you can't get when a rhetorical question is placed, I'll say it now, that question was rhetorical.

Calling some one ludicrous, once again, on subjective topics is not wanting them to respond, and agian, especially if they specifically say that it is not something for you to respond to.
If some one told me that I was stupid in thinking that, for example, half life was a good game, or that childeren of men was a great movie, I would accept, that they do not like the same movies and I do and that is that, and we would move on with our lives. However if some one said to me that, you are stupid for thinking that global warming is real or that animals evolve over time, then I would back up my claims and show that only a imbecile would think otherwise.
This Love, Harder to Breathe, She Will Be Loved, Wake Up Call, Moves Like Jagger. Yeah those are just off the top of my head. Believe me, I know who they are. I don't listen to them, but my mom and my sisters and my best friend does. See, I know who they are.

Let's see...

Meg & Dia is the one that comes to mind right away. Their first 2 (3?) albums were great, but after that they've been pretty bad.

Alyson Avenue's last album wasn't as good as the previous ones, although that's mostly just because I like Anette's singing much more than the new singer.

And I would have said Evanescence, but since the album they released yesterday is really good, I'll have to say they're back on the upswing.

I can use google too, and again, now your switching the story up. First you say your friend listens to them, then you say you simply know a lot of songs from them, and now you say your mom and your sister listen to them. Stop lying no one cares that you don't listen to maroon 5

That wasn't google bro, that was off the top of my head. I didn't change my story, I still said my friend listened to them, but my mom and my sisters also do. That's not exactly changing it, that's providing more evidence that I know who they are. Let's just leave at that.

I'll always love Metallica, their live shows still kill, and with the exception of St Anger I've enjoyed pretty much all their recorded work, but there's no denying that none of it holds a candle to Master of Puppets.

The disturbing thought was more trying to think of bands that HAVEN'T let me down in that way: off the top of my head I came up with Iron Maiden (who I seriously think are still at least as good as their classic period, if not better), Nile and Nevermore (before they broke up).

Slayer. Seasons in the Abyss will always be their magnum opus. There have been rumors of them disbanding for the past five or so years I'm surprised they haven't. Especially given the quality of work they've released since the mid 90s.

I'm a traditionalist, I still think Reign In Blood is their best album.

I agree in general though - aside from the production I didn't mind Divine Intervention and World Painted Blood wasn't too bad either, but there's been some truly horrible stuff as well and none of it holds a candle to Seasons and the albums before it. Personally, I blame Jeff Hanneman for slacking off for the past decade or so and letting Kerry King do most of the songwriting...
