When you face the two antlion guards outside the mine in Half-Life 2 Episode 2, the shielded thumper nearest to the mine entrance seems like the safest place to hide, right? Because they can't charge you, right? Wrong. They throw wrecked cars around like there's no tomorrow and crush you to death.

Unless, of course, you manage to shelter in one of the little nooks. Then literally nothing they throw can hit you . All they can do is putter around, giving you the evil eye as you rain bullets down upon them.

Portal: Lob one next to the Sentry Guns, step through and pick the gun up.

Half Life 1. Switch to Crossbow, Aim, Switch back to Rocket Launcher, perfect shot.

Monopoly : Whine, Swindle and Steal until you get the three Orange's and then hotel the heck out of them. Works 9 times out of 10, even if the other person has Reds and Purples.

Except for the fact that as soon as you start running everyone knows you're after him and he sees you and stops you.

Most of the targets in assassins creed just run up to them and stab in the eye then run like hell.
To be fair, that's kinda the point of the game.
Yes that is the point. It is infact one of the three rules. Hide in plain sight, do not call attention to yourself before you strike.
I understand it is the point of the game but there really is no real punishment for not doing it like a real assassin and even if you do do it correctly you still end up getting found and having to run like hell. If say yuo failed and 4 templars attacked you it would make the assassinations more difficult(im not bashing AC I still love it)

In GTA IV, there is a mission where you have to kill a laywer at his desk. After doing so you are normally expected to fight a bunch of people outside, all with quite decent weapons... It makes for a decent gun-fight for certain and will certainly kill you a few times resulting in utter frustration.
Or...
You can just jump out of the window in his office falling safely to the street below taking minimul damage - Much better XD!
Or you could do what I did and that's stab him a few times with your knife and leave the place through the exit without drawing a single bit of attention to yourself.

To be completely fair to the game in question, it is *possible* to assassinate a target and make it back to base without ever drawing attention to yourself. It's damn near impossible and the only one I've managed it on was the guy on the boat, but it can be done.

Friend: The Master in Fallout is tough as nails, it took me an hour to take that bastard down!
Me: I talked to him and he killed himself. Two minutes.
Friend: God you're depressing.

Pick a Megaman game, then pick a boss, their patterns are painfully predictable once you've seen it once and that only takes about 30 seconds.

Now I couldn't figure out how to kill the damned boss at the end of Southpark for the 64, he would always go and recharge after I gave him a significant enough beating, sure he couldn't hit me but I think my cartridge had a glitch and the bastard kept healing himself before I could kill him.

Fighting Sigma in Mega Man X. Just about everyone who's fought him knows about the claw trick against his final form. Wait for him to do the "here's my hand, jump on it and I'll give you a lift so you can shoot at my head" attack. Just stand on the edge of one of his hands. The lightning he shoots from his hands won't hit you, and you'll be out of range of the lightning and fire he shoots from his mouth. You can just stand there and fire charged shots. That is, until he decides to use his "here's my hand, jump on it and I'll give you a lift so you can shoot at my head" attack again, except with his other hand.

If you're lucky enough, you can take off a good chunk of his lifebar before having to jump off his hand.

Elder Scrolls: Oblivion. Take a full set of heavy armour, enchant it to reflect damage with Grand soul gems, stand in a corner and block, healing yourself every so often. You know the Gatekeeper in the Shivering Isles expansion? Killed him without swinging my sword once.

In the last level of Conflict: Desert Storm, theres a secret passage in the bottom of the canyon that leads into the base.

What, noone remembers that game?

(And I made that up by the way, I just wanted to mention Conflict.

The Fury in MGS 3, just run to the back of the area you fight him in, then sit there with a sniper and shoot. He won't get anywhere near you.
I did the same, but with a rocket launcher.

In MGS4,

When you fight Liquid/Ocelot on top of that big pillar thing at the end of the game, I just knocked him down once, ran over and started mashing L1 right as he started standing. The last few kicks in my combo always hit and knocked him back down, so I repeated the process over and over and over.
Lol, the point of the fight wasn't so much as to beat him, but to reflect on the previous games and events.
