Talkative.

Don't care how good you are or how bad you are, just keep it to yourself.
Oh God, this!

My brother got a mic today, and now he won't shut up! I used to sit and watch him play, whilst telling him jokes, and pointing out other people's flaws, but now he's to busy telling people they suck, or he rocks, or whatever.

Competitives. I HATE it when people play like it's the end of the world if they die.
I agree with this, and I'd like to add all the whining and name calling that comes with it.

The whole L2P attitude. Some games just have a learning curve and it does the community no good to alienate new players on a public server.

Frustrated behaviour based on one?s own imaginary rules for a specific game.

Basically let's say I'm playing Tekken and I happen to exploit the slow-ass reactions of my opponent who seems to not be able to register an attack I did repeatedly (to the point it actually is being performed rhythmically and predictably). This person then messages me that I 'suck because I spam'... Look I don't need game-play advice from someone I'm far better than. I also don't want criticism that isn't constructive. I don't need you sending me messages with abusive language. Just accept the loss and go about your business.

There is no way a game is SUPPOSED to be played. Just a way that it is intended to; if I deviate from the "intended" path (especially one that doesn't exist outside of your own mind) then I won't give a damn. I'm not psychic, I'm also not obligated to engage you in the manner which you THINK I am. I never signed a contract with the company neither did I enter into a contractual obligation to you either.

Accept that competition may be unpredictable and try your best to deal with it. If a person deviates from the intended means of 'enjoyment' and that ruins 'your' fun then that is YOUR problem and you need to find a constructive way of dealing with it.

Camp-Callers, it's a fucking legit tactic as far as I'm concerned and if you aren't smart enough to check around a corner before you run round blindly you deserve to die (in game that is, irl would just be hash).

And again, people who don't talk, maybe it's just me but when a multiplayer game is dead silent I just get really bored and think I may as well be playing bots, having random conversation or friendly banter is all part of the fun for me. Might annoy some people, but hey, you're free to mute me. Of course you can talk to much, but there is a balance, if its a team game tactics are needed.

And people who call BS all the damned time, I'll accept that games aren't perfect and will sometimes bug out, or lag might interfere, might even call it myself sometimes, sometimes I might even call it when I was on the winning end and admit I shouldn't be alive or whatever. But calling BS every other time you die? No, accept defeat graciously please.

Also, don't accuse me of having a small penis just because I killed you a few times, that's just plain childish.

Why do people complain about VOIP in public games? If you don't like it, disable it. Most of the time you can play perfectly well without talking to other players directly (you can always type or use in-game commands - BF2 style). If you really want to be able to talk to people you're playing with - e.g. you're in a clan, hop on their vent/TS, or failing that just use xfire... It's not complicated.

People giving female players more attention then they need to, doesn't matter if it's positive or negative. Don't treat someone differently just because they've got a high pitched voice.

People with massive egos who rub it in your face every time they kill you.

Micspammers.

Excessive trash talking/sexual jokes.

Smug winners/sore losers.

Thank God most modern multiplayer games have a mute feature.

ALL CAMPERS MUST FUCKING DIE.

(ironically,i prefer to be a sniper, which is long distance camping when you boil it down)

If you're talking with somebody, take it to party chat, if you're in game chat, at least have something useful to say.

Also Search and Destroy in Modern Warfare 2 really disillusioned me to the franchise. 2/3 players would only use the Intervention and only quickscope. And get themselves shot because it's not a GOOD strategy.

Also. Somewhat related: "I am displeased with this particular mechanic in Call of Duty....so I will post on the escapist and let EVERYBODY know about it because I don't want to practice or just buy a different game."
