Saw Zero Punctuation on Youtube VIA Somethingawful. Followed him to Escapist when he came here. Only registered recently because I decided I needed another forum to argue with people on.
Like a few others I came for Doraleous. A friend linked me. I later came back to finish it off, and got hooked on going through Shamus Plays (both LotRO and WoW) I didn't have internet at home at the time, but I eventually came back once I had it and started watching the other stuff, like ZP and Bob.
I was introduced to Yahtzee several years ago, and I've basically been following him/the site since then (like most others, I guess). Never really bothered with registering on the forums until recently though.
I watched Zero Punctuation, exclusively for a while in 2010. I eventually started going through the other areas of the site, eventually signing up for the forums in August shortly after the Unskippable Let's Play.
I came to The Escapist in 2005 when it was a New Games Journalism magazine. Then yahtzee happened and I basically stopped visiting except very, very rarely. Then Rebecca Mayes happened and started visiting regularly again. Then were we some really cool other features...none of which are here anymore.
Explosm (The Cyanide and Happiness Folk) linked to Zero Punctuation.
I used to only watch Zero Punctuation videos, then Daily Drop occurred. So I watched that series until it ended, and all of the LRR videos here. Then I found more at loadingreadyrun.com.
So now I only watch Zero Punctuation videos here.
I remember There Will Be Brawl. One of the greatest things I have ever watched. Hard to believe it ended two years ago.
On Topic: I don't remember what brought me to the Escapist. I signed up three years ago and I am happy I did. The Escapist is one of my favorite websites.
A friend told me to look up Zero Punctuation a few years ago, and I've watched it every week since then. Started checking out some of the other content soon after that, and finally made the profile a few months back
I guess The Escapist owes a lot to Yahtzee and Zero Punctuation; looks like his show brought about 90% of Escapist users to the site in the first place.
Myself included.
