It only rules people that are stupid enough to watch it.

I don't ever watch tv now-a-days except for news.

I recommend you watch The Truman Show, now that movie really shows how a tv can get a grip and change society, and it's really funny.

For me it is Fox News, G4, the Scifi channel, Spike, and MTV. I would not have any problem with FN if it was stressed that the information coming through can be potentially biased or sensationalized beyond proportion but that is not what garners an audience. For MTV? It is one big fucking misnomer. Essentially reality tv shows, showing scripted scenarios that erronously depict how the real world is. Where the fuck is the god damned music videos? And not just pop, we need some good ol variety. G4 Tech tv? Where the feck is the tech? Nothing but more and more reality shows that have nothing to do with todays expanding technology. The Scifi Channel just because it is really lacking on the Scifi and cattering to an audience that cannot tell the difference. Finally when it comes to Spike, no channel I have ever seen before revels in the thick tar that replaces the grey matter in most male brains these days. Nothing but the worst shows oriented towards glorifying the pros of being a stupid man. Some shows are genuinely entertaining and smart... to a limited extent but the validity of said shows are questionable at the very best of times.

That one show that makes some girls act like total "OH! MAH! GAWD! THAT IS SO CUUUUUUUUUUUTE!" machines.

I'm sorry, but that is just irritating, although they are obviously not saying that to me...
Kinda glad they aren't. : /

On fox news, specifically Glenn Beck, yes he is troublesome, but honestly, I am more upset over Red Eye. The notion of trying to indoctrinate a new generation of republicans by preaching it with snarky hipsters? Yeah, thats pretty obvious tactic there.

Also I hate to admit it, but I do watch fox news more than I should. Some of the women they have working are insanely hot. Granted I watch it muted, but hey, its still being watched, Right?

Seriously, fox news is alright if you realize how much is legit, and how much is sensationalizim to promote an agenda. However I HAVE seen alot of people become very indoctrinated to it. I would actually like to a law made against it. Wouldnt be the first time a law was made to protect a certain group of people who lacked the ability to know any better.

All news on TV, even though they try not to show it, all of them are biased. After all, even if Barack Obama saves the world from nuclear disaster, some news shows will still call him an evil communist muslim. And if during his presidency George Bush personally flew to the Middle East and killed every damn terrorist there, thus ending the war on terrorism and any threat of terrorism in the near future, half of the news shows would still call him an idiot who is one of the worst presidents of all time. Why? Because that's what viewers expect and that's what sponsors pay for, not to mention it's still all about ratings.

I would want to remove all news shows(at least in america) as they all need to be reminded what news is.

But I would do a study and switch out some reality show for reality bowling, make it all emotion filled, dramatic ect. I would want to see how many regular viewers of reality tv would notice.

Well, I know a lot of people are going to say Fox News, so I was tempted to say MSNBC or CNN or something like that, but news networks as a whole aren't ruining America, because everyone knows they're all full of crap. Seriously, 90% of the country doesn't buy the whole 'unbiased' line any more. EVERY news station has a bias, whether liberal or conservative. The only reason Fox News does so well on the ratings table is because roughly 50% of the voting nation is conservative. While liberals have a bizillion TV news networks to get the news from, conservatives only have one.

By the way, all the people who hate Fox News, nice Ad Hominem.

No, it's shows like "The Bachelor" that are ruining America. All the 'reality' TV. It shows all the stupid people acting like idiots on TV, encouraging other people to act like idiots and not do things like, oh, I don't know, take some actual responsibility for their life, work hard, and drop all this sense of entitlement crap.

Any reality TV shows. They're bland and boring, and generally follow unlikable douchebags.

Spongebob Squarepants.

This show ruined my childhood. When i was young, a half-hour show had to have a plot for the episode that wasn't entirely overused or boring. Then this shit comes out and proves to everyone with any power or idea for television, movies, books(twilight especially), even games, that there doesn't need to be a plot, coherent thought, or any kind of actual content, so long as there are enough underwear jokes to last an entire season.

To quote yahtzee "all they really want is brightly colored dross with the depth of a spoon."

I hate that little yellow sponge, soooo much.

before anyone says that it's just a coincidence that Spongebob came out maybe a year or so, maybe a bit less than, before it all went to hell, don't. I don't believe you.

And yes, i have seen the show before. And yes, i hated the mind-numbing stupidity of it even when it first came out.

Two news programmes, "A Current Affair", and "Today Tonight". Biased Journalism is fun, kids!
