What comes to mind when you hear: Terrorist?

Terrorists used to scare the fuck out of me. Now all i can think of is the Robin Williams skit

but in all seriousness, when i think about terrorists, i think about the balding men in suits, who have never gone to war, but have made a shit load of money off it, talking about how they can squeeze a few extra dollars out of a situation. those who believe that "shock and Awe" is a better choice of words than "Kill as many as we can as flashy as we can." and those who think that "Collateral Damage" is better than "The murder of civilians"

Hell, the Americans have filled the role of 'terrorist' in the past (see Vietnam). I think it's a term too-oft used.

There's also the basque seperatists and the Chechens (sp? - from Chechnya).

A terrorist is a person who attempts to use fear and the threat/actual violence to get their way. Terrorists target civilians.
Targeting soldiers is not terrorism - that's combat.
