Confess that they, both the top brass and the one guy responsible for the endings, effed up; Rename their studio.

Let Mass Effect die. Don't listen to EA and move on to the next project.

The Mass Effect series is great and will be for a long time. It isn't perfect but it is great.

That should be enough in the end.

Just die and no longer tarnish the reputation of Bioware. "Bioware" now is simply too heavily caught in EAs yoke to make anything worthy of Bioware anymore. This will probably only go on for so long before "Bioware" is either sent the way of the other developers EA has sucked dry and tossed aside, or if EA is really tenacious, simply continue as "Bioware" now are which is Bioware only in name, and basically be completely unrecognizable from what Bioware used to be.

Personally now, although their characters are boring and their stories are unambitious (Well, unless they hand Obsidian the writing reigns that is), Im sticking with bethesda from now on.

They make bethesda games for the sake of making bethesda games and for the people who love them. Like Bioware used to make bioware games for the sake of it and the people who loved them.

Now "Bioware" makes popularly action shooter games that are a homogenization of every contempary gameplay aspect (mainly from the shooter genre) that sells remotely well, and make games for the sole purpose of trying to turn a profit for EA.

I don't really think that they have to do anything to make up for ME3, as I'll still enjoy my playthroughs up to those last few minutes, and really, that's fine by me. What I would LIKE them to do is the following:
GB2 Steam (unlikely, but I can hope)
Make DA3 AWESOME
Make Jade Empire 2
Make SWTOR cheaper so i can actually try to get into it

What's to make up for? The game was great.
yup.

If we're talking about how to make up for the ending specifically, I'm hoping the extended cut will do just that. It really wouldn't take much as Bioware has already said that despite the assumptions people made (due to the ending not really telling us anything) that nobody starves to death while stranded on Earth, and that is is possible to rebuild the Mass Relays (presumably because either the Reapers have been pacified and will do it, or there's enough inert Reaper tech left in the destroyed Reaper fleet for the surviving races to build relays themselves). So if the extended cut shows even the mere beginnings of Galactic civilisation rebuilding, and what part the surviving characters will play in all that, then that will be enough for me. Sure that still wouldn't fix everything, but at this point I'd be grateful for even the most minor of improvements.

But when you get right down to it, even with things as they are ME3 is still the best game I've ever played.

There's no need to make up for anything. You have a supposedly great game (I've never played it as it's not to my tastes) and all you can think about is the ending. Plenty of games have bad endings, but if the rest of the game was great it's easy to look past it. The ending to Beyond Good and Evil was a confusing mess but the game is still great. Get over it you silly people. Besides, they're releasing an extended cut and if you're not satisfied then you never will be. I hope we can all just forget about this now. Forever.

BioWare doesn't need to make it up to anyone.
Everyone needs to make it up to BioWare for trashing them so much over something so pointless.

Besides, there are several groups doing far worse in the industry, constantly churning out things that make no sense and insult our intelligence, like Activision and Sega.

Honestly, why are so many people are so angry about the last 5-10 minutes of Mass Effect 3 while there are games that do much worse and do everything ME3's endings did, and then some, throughout the course of the entire game!? (Activision's Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 and Sega's Sonic Generations come to mind)

Why should the somewhat disappointing he hit so hard while the massively-disappointing get all these free passes?
I think it's that whole thing where the closer something gets to being perfect the more grating the few minor flaws it has become. If ME3 as a whole had been bad or mediocre a shit ending would be of little consequence, but as it stands at the moment it's like a turd hidden at the bottom of a 6ft tall chocolate cake. Yeah it was good cake but if the turd had been visible from the start it wouldn't have come as such a crushing blow at the end.

I know it's stupid but hey, that's people. Whatcha gonna do?

Oh don't be such a Drama Queen.

If you don't like Bioware or EA and you don't want to buy their stuff any more that's a perfectly valid position to hold. However, show me someone who plays a game where you can suspend alien mech zombies from the mini black hole that you've just launched out of your hand and thinks "Yeah, this is totally indistinguishable from Call of Duty. Tsk, where's the originality people?" and I will show you someone who desperately needs a reality check.

I've only been into Bioware games for a few years, and already I can think of 6 different franchises that they hold, of which only 1 involves shooting as the main combat mechanic, and then supports that with several others. So you're saying that Mass Effect, 1 franchise, of which their are only 3 games, out of everything else Bioware has made and is still making, and that only includes shooting as one mechanic out of several others, completely invalidates Bioware as a company?

This is exactly the sort of attitude that has led the industry to believe that all fans are just whiny and entitled; and that nothing they say deserves to be taken seriously.

(Also, for the record, yes. EA/Bioware make games to make money. Exactly like how Bethesda makes games to make money, and how Valve makes games to make money. It doesn't make them evil, that's just how the world works because the adoration of fans doesn't put food on anybody's table. No company, no matter how good their rep is, cares about you as an individual. At most, they care about us as a collective in the sense that we can hurt their profit margins if they piss us off too much. This is the same for all of them, and it doesn't make any of them soulless, so just deal with it.)

Just make some sweet-ass, single-player DLC. Give us new places to kill something, new forms of husk (Am I the only one that wants an elcor husk?), let me use the Mako one last time.
