Ok, Ok. Look people have opinions and what not.
Now on the idea that bayformers deviates from the original source material, Yes that is very much true but at the same time transformers has always been the most disjointed lore in all of fandom with rampant conflicts and such. So given that movies do tend to deviate from source material when transitioning into live action film format, that really was not shocking.
However the point I make is that when you get down the nuts and bolts of it, theres still relatively little difference in the films. They are both predominantly special effects, they both involve classical magical Maggufin quests, They forsake narrative exposition for very disproportionate, rote, and tediously boring action sequences. As for the levels of acting, yes Avengers has a "better" cast, but at the same time there is very few opportunities for "acting" in the film with the biggest bulk of dialog in the film coming in the form of anime esque shouting ones intentions.
Now, I have never made any suggestion that I am not a dick.(SHUT UP WESLEY!) but I express this because what I see here is disproportionate praise for one thing and disproportionate condemnation for something else when really the similarities between the two are almost a mirror of the other. They both fall back on big budget summer hollywood blockbuster formulas. Neither is really all that bad, but at the same time neither is very good either and claiming otherwise seems to be more with bias than objective interpretation.
Edit: Oh on the fallout thing? Was my prediction off?
