Ok, Ok. Look people have opinions and what not.

Now on the idea that bayformers deviates from the original source material, Yes that is very much true but at the same time transformers has always been the most disjointed lore in all of fandom with rampant conflicts and such. So given that movies do tend to deviate from source material when transitioning into live action film format, that really was not shocking.

However the point I make is that when you get down the nuts and bolts of it, theres still relatively little difference in the films. They are both predominantly special effects, they both involve classical magical Maggufin quests, They forsake narrative exposition for very disproportionate, rote, and tediously boring action sequences. As for the levels of acting, yes Avengers has a "better" cast, but at the same time there is very few opportunities for "acting" in the film with the biggest bulk of dialog in the film coming in the form of anime esque shouting ones intentions.

Now, I have never made any suggestion that I am not a dick.(SHUT UP WESLEY!) but I express this because what I see here is disproportionate praise for one thing and disproportionate condemnation for something else when really the similarities between the two are almost a mirror of the other. They both fall back on big budget summer hollywood blockbuster formulas. Neither is really all that bad, but at the same time neither is very good either and claiming otherwise seems to be more with bias than objective interpretation.

Edit: Oh on the fallout thing? Was my prediction off?

Hmmm, well let's put it together, shall we?

Even for a non-comic-fan, someone who never read about ONE of these guys or saw one single cartoon, the issue is able to be entered. They put together individual tellings of each hero and, in fact, the MacGuffin that was so integral to the plot. You therefore got to see their backgrounds and lead-up to the point in which the movie now progresses with. In short, THEY TOLD A STORY and they did it pretty well. It was portrayed well, if sometimes humorously, and was entertaining.

What I wanna know is this: Are you seriously so cheap and critical of a movie which, even if a person cannot follow the plot, still contains assloads of action and funny...that you actually wanted your one stinking dollar back? Ugh, for shame... Your one dollar just died in vain, didn't it? You know what? I'm done with you. If I keep going, I'll just up saying some rotten things that would offend thine dainty ears. Later!
I'm a good example of this. I haven't read ANY marvel comics. And I fucking love the movie. Good story, awesome action scenes and very funny.

I've only seen bits and pieces of TA because obviously i'm the only person on the planet who didn't rush to see it but I doubt it could be worse than Transformers.

Have you seen the action scenes? I couldn't even tell you what was going on... I can't even say they were a colourful display of lights and particle effects played out in a sequence. It was just a mess of random confusing shit.

Funny how Bay tried to shove as much actiony stuff into the films at the expense of all else and I can't even make out what is supposed to be going on.
