I got a couple of DVDs from anime I enjoy, a couple books to compliment my college studies, a few shirts, a gift card for Chik-fil-A, and $20 that I haven't spent yet (probably will go towards another DVD or a couple CDs). For me, that was actually a lot, and it is also probably the first Christmas in years where a video game wasn't involved, but given my time-sink of a backlog (very few games, but all of them are long), I didn't feel like asking for any this year.

Pants, a couple of shirts, a gift card for the gas station, and a book.

Because my parents put the fun in functional.

I will list in detail what I got ... brace yourself!

A Ronnie the Reindeer chocolate statue.
A box of Haribo.
A tin of biscuits.
A tin of quality street.
A bag of chocolate coins.
And so far £80.

Yeah, be thankful for what you got 'cos some of us get next to fuck all.

To be honest I am not arsed about what I get, that day isn't about stuff for me. It's meant to be about family, a thing a lot of people neglect or worse, dread ... Shame I barely get family either.

$60

A sexy nurse costume...from my parents.

Obligatory horrible gift from my relatives who don't know me at all and don't have much money so I would rather they didn't waste it on this but they are traditional about Christmas. This year it was perfume.

Most of my family and friends are not really into Christmas including me.

I got a sweet little espresso pot, complete with a selection of fancy coffee and syrup...nice.

My girlfriend also remembered me saying something about Ass Creed Revelations, and bought me Assassins Creed 3...unfortunately, what I said was "this is ridiculous and I hate it", so I will be feigning gratitude for however long it takes me to finish that :s

Ooo, does Pokemon I received via the Wonder Trade count? In that case, I got a HA Charmander, a Makuhita, a Feebas, and then traded eggs with the guy that gave me the Feebas, which hatched to a female Chikorita.

Also several other Pokemon of no real note.

Still waiting to find out. Last year, nothing. Between having to feed and clothe kids that weren't ours and...other things, I bought my own damn present last year, Bioshock Infinite. This year, nothing day of because over $1000 was spent on everyone else so ppl were broke when they got to me. I expect I'll possibly get my christmas present at or around April, which is in fact my birthday. Or not, because I don't believe in celebrating being closer to death.

Some Stephen King books (On Writing: A Memoir to the Craft, It and The Shining).

XCOM: Enemy Within.

The Devil May Cry HD Collection.

A shirt and a jumper (both too small for me. We'll get it sorted out.)

Some new ear buds.

£50 in cash.

An electric razor.

A Magic the Gathering 2014 Core Set fat pack and 2014 Deck Builder's Toolkit (from different people) totaling roughly 350 cards. I can't remember if that figure includes the obscene amount of lands or not.

Built a Sliver Deck that uses red, green and white mana (and includes two black Slivers giving Lifelink and a blue Sliver giving flight, playable by using Transguild Promenade cards).

Slightly tweaked my red/black deck. Not much to say, it's obviously designed to smash the enemy's health down as quickly as possible.

Completely retrofitted my white/green deck, having taken the three or four sliver cards I'd put in it out. It now has a focus on lifegain, with some good token spamming capability, and some cards using the latter to aid the former.

Built an Izzet (red/blue) deck in which the blue cards fuck with the enemy's spell casting, and the red damages them. I'm referring to it as 'Izzet Really?'

Overhauled my Dimir (black/blue) deck to strengthen its milling capabilities, and introducing a Planeswalker (Jace, Memory Adept) I got from the fat pack.

Built a white/black deck in which white plays mainly a defensive/pacifying role and the black brings the enemy down with painful enchantments, instants and effect creatures. It's mainly a human deck, with some cards that strengthen them or take advantage of them specifically.

Whether it was given to you as a gift or you bought it for yourself, what did you get this year?

This year about the only thing worth mentioning in my eyes that I got was something I bought for myself, and that would be this.

Yes, I bought myself a LEGO fire truck, and I am proud of it.
I had that kit or one extremely similar to it when I was little. Most of it is still in one piece in my bin of Legos if I remember correctly.

I got a $50 Steam gift card from my parents which was pretty much promptly spent on several games and then I got $50 cash which I have to make last until the 7th which is payday for me.

Oh, and because my brother and his wife are clever people when it comes to this sort of thing, they taped the $50 bill to a block of wood that was wrapped in gift wrap, put that in a box and filled it with packing peanuts.

This is an improvement over the year they wrapped every one of my gifts in duct tape, something they won't do again because as they say, paybacks are a *****.
