I thought it was alright. The plot is what killing it for me. All they had to do was do a Find Replace to change "Korea" to "China" and I might have actually bought it.
The whole point of the game was this it could actually happen. I read somewhere that they got a bunch of military advisors and stuff to help them create a fictional scenario in which it could happen.
It's highly unlikely that it would because so many things would have to fall into place, but I thought it was an interesting take on the whole "invasion of the US" thing.

It's a lukewarm pile of gray puss, if we had Video Game Averageness Awards this game would go home with the lot of them.

It was okay, I mean in a place with too many military shooters, it was nice to see someone else besides Russia attacking us and from a new prospective.

Had lots of potential. Some of the moments got to me, like the aforementioned mass grave bit, but overall meh. Campaign was short as shit, and shooting felt stiff.

Last level in the game, though, was admittedly awesome and one of my favorite FPS levels

I don't get why everyone thought the "mass grave" scene was so compelling. Shock value of that nature only works if the protagonist has yet to discover how malignant the opposition is, and made to face the reality of the situation.

Homefront doesn't even do that. From the get go, the Koreans are not trying to hide anything, they beat the crap out of the main prot, and shoot a kid in front of his parents all in about 5 minutes. There is no "discovery", there are no macabre revelations. There are just dumb, blunt shock scenes that add nothing to the plot.

In my opinion, the game would have been better if you started as an everyman, and spent an 'act' where the protagonist is trying to justify the occupation, and making the best of a bad situation. A "Mass-Grave" scene would be appropriate at the end of such an act. A little violence here, a threatening discovery there (why is everyone getting on cattle-cars and trains?) Then you could cue the heroics and it would make more sense, and be far more compelling.

It is one of my all time fav games ever, perfect level of character building, brilliant shooting and number of games. I honestly can not think of anything wrong with it.

That's my point. Korea is the least credible threat to the US since the purple people eaters.

The invasion of the US would have been cool, if it was in the least bit credible.

With China, not that many crazy things would have to go right.
