I wanted to be a palaeontologist from as early an age as memory serves, up until about the age of 12. I was one of the few children who never aspired to be a fireman or a vet.
The vast number of dinosaur encyclopaedias, and boxes of assorted animal bones from beneath the school playground and my own backyard, still hide amongst my piles of old forgotten bits and pieces.
Also, just to clarify, I was not one of those kids who wanted to be a palaeontologist because they thought Jurassic park looked cool, I'll have you know my parents were of 'that' variety in that I wasn't allowed to watch any movies of that sort until the ripe old age of 11. I just really liked dinosaurs.
I only wish I had decided against aspiring to dig up dinosaur bones because I found something more interesting...I'm supposed to be acting like a responsible adult, finding myself a career, and building toward a prosperous future. But now I don't know what I want to do!!!
Sigh...such is life.
