(Flies airplane around the prairie) "Holy Shit!" (Keeps flying airplane around). Best part! As a Canadian of the 'American' Continent I approve of this comedic act!

Ireland is not part of the British isles, evened Northern Ireland, British Isles is a geographical name as apposed to one regarding citizenship. I hate to nit pick but i know a few Irish people who get annoyed at this.

It was a very strange where he was going with the joke for a while. And seeing how it was the topic of religion which is very sensitive for me (not really religious, but very touchy when it comes to making fun of it), I wasn't sure if he was serious about trying to prove it (which isn't funny to me) or whether he was trying to make fun of it (which is usually not funny to me). In all honesty, I have no idea if he was being serious or not

I love plenty of British comedians though.

I don't particularly like this character he's apparently putting on. I couldn't really make it through the entire clip - but I usually love British humour. Mostly by way of television shows.

I'm American. This guy is just...awful.

Ricky Gervais is funny as hell, and Russel Brand is almost funny, but Al Murray just acts like an onstage drunk.

Best comedian ever? George Carlin. End of discussion.

I am an American who LOVES English humor (Monty Python, Ricky Gervais, that one English guy on on John Stewart), but this guy is just irritating. He has a funny joke now and then, it's mostly crap.

Holy fuck what is he speaking... is that English? I had my volume at half and I could have sworn he was speaking German or some shit, turn the volume up and suddenly I can hear some words mixed in with gibberish.

"classic American trying to lay the blame on some poor fucking mexican" LMFAO

I like America's excessive patriotic comedians, blue collar comedy and all that but this guy is pretty funny too. He has his moments but he's not hysterical.

Ireland is part of the British Isles.

Maybe you should try looking it up...

I'm American and I thought he was funny.

Maybe its because I'm always trying to keep overly zealous people at bay, and this seems like a nice break from the whole "God exists because (insert reason here)!"

My mistake, Brain fart, got British Isles and Britain mixed up. Almost finished the week without being an idiot, but oh well.

Ireland is part of the british isle's, the P.C. name is North East Atlantic Archipelago but that dosen't quite roll of the tounge (more like stumbles off and stops half way to throw up)

Either way OT http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Fo0q1B4uFz4 This is what al murray's really like, The Pub Landlord (that's that characters name) is a parody of little englanders his brash, racist and stupid, but it's all a facade if you acctually think about his comedy, you don't laugh about observations but the obsurdity of it, The Pub Landlord is like Steve Coogans, Alan Partridge, It's a character that okay you might not find funny but you'd be wrong if you construe it as rasist

Yeah, as been pointed out, he's not racist, sexist, etc, he's a character comedian, and the problem is, as he's become successful, he seems to have got more people liking him at face value than the ones who actually see he's mocking the average Sun reading skinhead, Eng-er-land football fan who still thinks we should hate the Germans.

I also think it's not his best material shown, and sadly, his sitcom was great, if you like his character (also, his character was more about a stereotypical pub landlord than a little Englander), but being shown on SKY means about 3 people saw it, as people only watch sky for old movies and football.

Of course, he's an acquired taste and I don't for a moment expect everyone to like him.

I'd be disappointed if any escapist dismissed UK comedy on the basis of a clip tho, just as I'd not dismiss America on the basis of 5 mins of Larry the Cable Guy going on about towelheads.

At least Al Murray is mocking racists, not telling em they're right.

(Unless I'm wrong and Larry the Cable Guy is some genius character comic who's really a big friendly lefty)
