I just finished up Assassin's Creed 3 and have not idea what to play now. It's either I play a game I haven't beaten yet or play a game whose DLC I haven't played yet.

For games I haven't beaten yet:
Bioshock 2
Borderlands 2
Dark Souls
Deus Ex: Human Revolution
Dishonored
The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion
Fallout: New Vegas
Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning
Metal Gear Solid HD Collecton
XCOM: Enemy Unknown
The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings

For games I haven't beaten the DLC yet:
Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood
Assassin's Creed 3 (just got it)
Batman Arkham City
Borderlands(and Borderlands 2)
Dead Space 2
Dragon Age: Origins
Elder Scroll V: Skyrim
Fallout 3
Gears of War 3
Mass Effect 3
Red Dead Redemption.

Also I really don't want to be playing a RPG right now since I am about to start finals week and I know how addicted to RPGs I can get, especially if the story is really good.

Start Dark Souls NOW. You won't regret it at all if you want one of the best experiences gaming has to offer. Just wanted to say that up front. Now, all those games are awesome, but I'll just give my suggestions on what you should play.

Right then, here we go.

Deus Ex: Human Revolution- Awesome game. This kept my stealth me occupied until Dishonored came out. A good mix of first-person and gunplay that is very flexible. The only downer is the boss battles, but that's really up to you to decide if that's the case.

Dishonored- Currently what I'm playing along with Dark Souls. This is the game that if Thief and Bioshock mated with Half-Life peeking through the keyhole shouting encouragement, you'd get Dishonored.

Yeah, I've been on a stealth kick lately. But both those games are fucking awesome. Hope I helped you pick, and have fun!

Fallout New Vegas. It is really a lot of fun and has so much content that you can't possibly find it all in just one playthrough. Add in the DLC and you've easily got something that'll last you around 100 to 150 hours. I know because I've done that many hours for New Vegas with 43 characters...I had a lot of free time in the past.

You say you're wary of playing an RPG, yet almost everything on that list is one. Out of those, I would suggest Deus Ex: HR, but with that list you really can't go wrong.

Only because they are games that I owned that I haven't finished or started.

Dishonored (i just beat it) because it isn't that long, but replayable, and not tough to clear 100%. It seems like a good choice if you are busy with finals.

i have a list of unfinished games as well, and i haven't even bought AC3 yet bc Revelations is still one of many on that list.

How did you play Dishonored? I was trying to play a low chaos but I sort of screwed myself ever since I helped out Granny Rags. I might as well just continue my lethal playthrough and replay later for a ghost run.

My 1st playthrough was uncensored, i did whatever i wanted and didn't care much about getting any trophies. That ended in high chaos.
2nd time i went for no kills nor alerts. Low chaos, which was fun in a different way, tricky at some times. Some missions went quicker this way actually, bc i didnt bother to search areas and try to kill everyone lol.
3rd playthrough beaten without any powers. I got lucky and found a blink-through-walls glitch which allowed me to grab the last painting i needed for Art Dealer trophy without having to restart the game for a 4th run.

at the end of the 3rd playthrough i had like 3-4 trophies to snag, which were all attainable by restating the final or 2nd to last mission. (i apparently didnt need sticky grenades in any of my playthroughs lol!)

The game is pretty great, i didn't feel like it was a hassle to play 3 times to earn 100%... i enjoyed playing both stealth and aggressive styles. I even managed to find things in the 3rd run that i missed in the prior two.

My only gripes with the game are: the story could have been deeper/ more epic, it was a bit short, and maps/ares could have been larger. I suppose MORE is the key focus on what the game could approve upon. I could see Dishonored as an awesome open world game.

Is this another chance to say Bastion is $20 on steam and Saints Row 3 + DLC is $40. Play Bastion, the SR3

Hah, you should play Oblivion.

It's a fun RPG, and you don't have to worry about the story being good.

Dishonoured, but for the love of baby jesus, turn the quest/location markers off, you'll get so much more out of the game.

I just finished Dishonored and I echo many of the thoughts already stated and because it is fairly short (and painfully obvious) it would probably be good for your finals time, however Oblivion is an amazing choice if you want a time sink, personally i didnt mind the speech mini game and the repetitive voices and charters didnt concern me either, and then shivering isles is also amazing.

so short list, Dishonored then Oblivion (which I actually liked more then skyrim)

Better yet, buy the THQ bundle, which has SR3 in it, and play those.
