It's amazing.

Actually, I find it quite sad that I base most of my life on it... Ok, only my haircut.

It was fun while it was on. Not really good, but a sort of guilty pleasure.

A more in-depth analysis: I'm able to go through an entire saga in the space of 30 minutes by means of Burst Limit. Same story, same battles, just without the countless minutes of staring each-other down and grunting. Take that as you will.

I am not into DBZ...I personally think that people watch it because of the story...actually that kept me watching it for about 20 episodes...it's like the LOST factor...you don't really like the show but the story is so original and keeps you into it that you can't stop watching...then again if your only watching to find out the story no one can blame you, that's what shows are for actually

ITs a sort of anime thing that involves lazer shooting and super martial arts, popular amongts male children and some male adults.

Thats about it.

I loved it when I was a kid, and I still like it now, albeit not as much, and I can see the whole stupidity of having to wait a number of episodes for something to happen.

Still, I'm watching Dragon Ball Kai now, and that's pretty damn good, what with the higher resolution (I think), and the fact that there's only 100 or so episodes.

I liked it, bordering on loving it, now I consider it a fond memory, and I could probably even watch it from scratch if the urge grabbed me (and if I knew where to get it).
Hell I'm watching the Pokemon anime from the beginning purely for the nostalgia factor.

I'd also like to add that I'm an adult human male of reasonable intelligence, who finds internet memes such as the "Over 9000" gag to be funny. Now if you'll excuse me I think I've been sitting down too long because my balls are inert.

DBZ is old now and I couldn't care less for it anymore. Cell's first form, his insect-like form, was pretty cool and his perfect form had the some of the best theme music I have ever heard.

I liked the saga about Trunks/Androids/Cell.

Otherwise, I didn't care much about the rest. I tried to watch beyond the Cell Saga and I just ended up turning it off.

I loved the oriinal Dragon Ball but it devolved into just an excuse for some stupid tournament after stupid tournament that got boring and cliched quick.

Here's what you watched with your friends in the late 90s:

DBZ
Pokemon
Yu-Gi-Oh!/Gundam Wing

If you watched none of the above, I probably didn't know you. Growing up, that series was awesome. Now that I'm older, I'm watching Dragon Ball Kai, which is basically DBZ without all the bullshit and in a higher resolution (it cuts 300 episodes down to about 90). I feel the overall message of DBZ is surprising considering what the series entailed.
I didn't watch Yu-Gi-Oh!, but I did watch the rest. And out of all of those shows, Gundam Wing was the best.

OT:I liked it when it was just DragonBall Z. I loved the old episodes and then it start going to shit once it hit the Buu saga. I couldn't stand them, and then it even got worse after that. So I stopped watching them.

Wing was most people's first Gundam series (except for Funk, that's why he doesn't understand why we love it so) and it was golden.

As for DBZ, Toriyama planned to end the series at the Cell saga, but his wife pressured him to continue it because it was so profitable. That's probably why Buu saga wasn't as good as the others. Hell he planned to end it at Ball, but see above.

The problem is, you won't finish powering up until this thread is at least a week old, then we'll have to start a new thread to continue this conversation.
