I loved it as a kid. It was stupid, simple violence to soak up my time.

However, it's spawned quite alot of good fighting games too, so I notice it popping up in my games collection alot now, even though I'm older.

I'm rewatching it now. Being able to skip the intros is bliss. Other than that, it was good fun. Grand memories. Bit dusty now.

In the end on the DBZ series ALL, ALL IN CAPITALS bad guys ALL became good when a new bad guy showed up. (except maybe Cell)
Or Freiza, or King Cold, or Cooler, or Android 17, Broly; the list goes on.

I dunno. I'd say it's awesome from a nostalgia/child's perspective, and I wouldn't mind watching it all again. It's like how I went with Gundam really.

I thought it was dull and stupid.

It took 5 shows to resolve a single battle, most of that was because of flashbacks and POWERING UP!!!

It was mostly just fodder for the weenaboos who

RRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA

were willing to watch anything that came from Japan and claim that it was the most important piece of cinematic art ever. I also think that the power level of the characters appeals to a more immature mindset that values that kind of thing.

now i have to finish powering up.

Here's what you watched with your friends in the late 90s:

DBZ
Pokemon
Yu-Gi-Oh!/Gundam Wing
Fucking hell, did you live in my house? You practically stated everything except for Ed, Edd 'n' Eddy.

i loved it as a kid, then this year i found some guy on youtube who published the whole of Z by saga abridged so it cut out the endless recapping, and was nothing but the story progression. it was amazing and i watched the whole lot through again and REALLY enjoyed it.

worth a google. cant remember his account though.

IMO it was epic up until the end of the kid buu saga. then it sucked donkey balls.

that moment where gohan goes SS2 in the cell saga was possiby one of the more epic things i've watched on TV

I always watched it when I was younger. It was a great yet terrible show. It was awesome when somebody was fighting but the build up, oh the build up.

It was pretty good for a while, but most of the battles took too long without any serious plot developments (this is extrememly noticable when watching an episode a day and waiting to see how the fight turns out. Also, Goku and Gohan were ridiulously obvious Garry Stus.

Ok, you are right about Freiza, and A17. But they died. I should have stated that any once bad guys that they kept around all turn good. Picollo, the other androids, Boo, and of course Vegeta. King cold I believe was from an American release movie and was not part of the DBZ magna. Please correct me if I am wrong on any of this.

Freiza was killed by Goku, only to be rekilled by Trunks.

Again I was refering to DBZ and DBZ only as released in the USA in the late 90s. Not the other Dragon Ball magnas.

Died out when Goku got adult, so basicly all of DBZ was "meh" till "bad" in my book. The only cool section was drawn out entirely too long for my liking and got me yawning and actually dropping the whole thing. That was the Cell-Saga or however it'S appropriately named. Eitherway:

Dragonball rules
Dragonball Z fails

And that's all my very personal opinion

All the people on my school bus watched it so unless I wanted a very long boring ride home I had to give it a try. Honestly it was boring and as others have said it was just people making grunting sounds for an episode before unleashing some amazing attack, which was always left on a cliffhanger until the next episode.

I remember once Goku and his enemy were 'so powerful' and could move so fast the battle scene was just background images with flashes of light on them.

I was always confused as to how their attacks could cause mile-wide craters yet a direct hit would only ever ruffle their hair, cause a bust lip and their clothes would get a bit dirty.

There was also a kid in my school who was convinced if his hair grew down to his knees he could finally "go super saiyan"...I kid you not.

DBZ is OVER 9000!

Sorry... A lot of people are actually pretty quick to call it out as a bunch of roid infused men kicking the shit out of each other and screaming. And well... it pretty much is.
