Really? Personally, I find it to be pretty much perfect in representing British secondary schooling in comedic form.Optional Opinion said:I wouldn't class Inbetweeners as 'British Comedy', it's basically American Pie comes to England.

Thanks goodness, I was beginning to wonder if people had forgotten Harry and Paul. Agreed with previous posts on Blackadder, but there are a few good modern shows; Come Fly With Me was certainly a lot less crude than little Britain. I did like LB to start, but by the end of the second series I was bored of it- the sketches were hit-or-miss.Raziel_Likes_Souls said:It'll never get better than this.
No, 'Paul' was Americanised and lost pretty much all of the Britishness about it (except for Pegg and Frost, obviously) probably because Edgar Wright wasn't attached. Not to say it was a bad film though.ZombieGenesis said:If by Modern you mean stuff like 'Paul' that came out recently, then yeah, I thought it was really good. Shaun of the Dead team hasn't failed me yet.
Their bringing back though on...Dave.loc978 said:Well... the BBC can just smeg right off then.MRMIdAS2k said:Arrogant bullshit like this:

Is the reason British comedy is going stale.
...the IT Crowd is pretty awesome, though.
LOL. After I made that post I went to the BBC America website and watched a few clips of the Inbetweeners. And it's really funny! I'd probably watch it regularly if they posted full episodes on their website. My only problem with it was that it was a bit of a sausage fest. I realize a lot of the humor in the series comes from learning how to deal with the opposite sex. But I just felt that the show could benefit from some sort of token female presence; like an Elayne or a Dee from "It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia".MRMIdAS2k said:Yankeedoodles said:I don't really know. My only experience with British comedy is Monty Python, half an episode of The Office and a few old episodes of Look Around You and Have You Been Served. I liked those shows so maybe I'll check the more modern stuff in the future.
Which is weird, because Black Adder 1 was the reverse.Realitycrash said:I just checked out One foot in the Grave. It's decent, from the first glance, but sort of lacks what made Blackadder so funny: That everyone in the world is a complete moron except Blackadder himself.
gh0ti said:Not to sound pretentious or anything, but there really hasn't been much point in making sitcoms since Blackadder and Fawlty Towers more or less perfected the format.
It is indeed. Wanna make it weirder? Check out the Pilot for Blackadder, Season 1. Then everyone else is once again the moron, and Blackadder the only sharp-wit.The_root_of_all_evil said:Which is weird, because Black Adder 1 was the reverse.Realitycrash said:I just checked out One foot in the Grave.
