I have yet to venture into a hair salon since June of 2007. Feel free to have a glance upon my profile, although I shall update such when I bother to have another picture taken; one without facial hair I must note. Currently my hair is approximately half way down my back.
As is mine, and I love it:

My hair is just past my ears, and I like it long.

In my opinon, long hair on men only looks good if it is properly styled, as in women.

My hair is currently down to my shoulders.

I'm getting it lopped off today, I'm very sad and it is all I could dream about last night.
Sometimes it just needs to be done... :(

working on it, but combine it with a beard and you look like a hobo :D a comment I get rather frequently, but I just consider it as a badge of honor^^

I've had long hair for a few years. I used to have it shaved to a #3 or 4 but now I prefer it like this.

I have long hair and when I'm too lazy to save for a few days i like to play the game of walking in front of churches and scaring the crap out of them.

I tried to grow my hair shoulder-length, I really did. It was just so thick and fluffy that it never, ever stopped sticking out like a dandelion.

I curse those of you with manageable hair.

My hair stretches down to my chest area, it's semi-curly by nature, but I take care of it, and comb it so it doesn't get all (yuck) greasy and frizzy.

I also have long hair, it goes way over my shoulders and i keep it at that length. The time when it was still growing was horrible though...

Depends on body, color (of hair not skin, I'm onto you, yes you, the guy in the corner of the room ready to scream "RACIST") length, personality and condition of their hair.

Personally im still growing the "Classing Surfer Look", Which usually consists of hair growth to just below the ears and blonde and sticks out a bit.

My hair isn't too long, but it grows relatively slowly. It's pretty long for me though, I usually get it cut every two or three months and it's definitely been at least two months since I had it cut. I always make sure my hairdresser keeps it at least two inches though. I don't like having short hair, mid-length to long is fine for me. By the way, I get a lot of say in what my hair is like, my hairdresser is my mom. And before anyone starts commenting, like "grow up dude, you're 19 and your mom still cuts your hair?", she's actually a qualified hairdresser even though it isn't her actual job, and you can forget asking me to pay barber prices when I can just get it done completely free by her when I'm home from university. Which is roughly every three months, plus all of summer.

I also happen to be extremely hairy everywhere else, oddly enough. I simply refuse to shave anywhere other than my face and head, and I'm definitely not going to willingly be waxed. I'm proud of being hairy. In fact, usually I shave my face every week, now I've been unshaven for about two weeks and I'm just letting a beard grow. Simply to see what it looks like, and then when it stops looking good on me I'll shave it off.

I did have a friend back home who had extremely long hair though, he's my brother's former best friend, and when I saw my brother's group prom photo last summer I actually mistook this guy and another guy for girls. Until my brother pointed them out again and I realised that I knew both of them. I literally couldn't tell that they were guys who I knew, for both of them their hair was below shoulder length. One of them is ginger, by the way...
