Pens. But the last time I described why I liked them so much, it got into Freudian territory. Needless to say it got uncomfortable fast.

Severed heads. They really do help to create the appropriate ambience for the basement, I like to sense the fear in my victims before I take them. I also collect stamps! :D That's super fun! ^_^

I used to collect phone cards (mobile phones weren't widespread in my country until the early 2000s) but nobody uses them anymore. I also collect various world currencies, both current and historic. Oh, and I have a big collection of Italian comics. And combat knives.

It's not really collecting if you're using it for something productive though. Collections are supposed to be mostly useless things that just sit around. Like stamps, someone who goes through a lot of stamps mailing things isn't a "stamp collector", they just use a lot of stamps.

Unless you've got a bajillion knitting needles and yarn you don't actually use, that's a collection.

I don't really collect anything.

Dragons. Statues, Posters, Clothes, if it has wings, scales, and (hopefully) is shown breathing fire, I can't resist buying it.

Oh, there are piles of needles I don't use and yarn I have no clue what to use for.

Any kind of game memorabilia, and PS2 games. Although due to financial difficulties I haven't gotten one in a while even though I really want to get my hands on Vampire Night.

I collect military history books. The more associated with my avatar and the period surrounding his lifetime, the better, though other periods accepted on the basis of military genius.
Huh, so do I, von Moltke the Elder (got for my old man, only I read them more than he does)... and Polybius (props for avi).

No. That's a terrible idea. Knitters and crocheters are like Yakuza and Triads.
They don't mix well, and I've seen yarn stores torn to shreds in fights between the two groups. It's bad stuff.
My sister almost got hit in a drive-by by some crocheters when they saw her knitting.
LOL, thanks for alleviating and worsening my pain in equal measure! Reminds me of when a woman was sued by the BBC for distributing Doctor Who knitted figures and was parodied for being 'a seditious sampler'!

Skulls... lots of skulls, they definitely create a certain... atmosphere, don't they?! XD

And by stamps, do you mean postage stamps, or stamping stamps? ('cos my old man has the former, I have the latter)

And how could I forget: spoons! LOL

And as a kid I also had all 151 pokémon on cards(of course this was before they decided to add more, bastards) should still be lying around here somewhere.

Pre-20th century editions of Shakespeare. So far my oldest is a Titus Andronicus from 1790. It's not really all that valuable, but it's pretty cool.

I collect the unique/odd fliers and free post cards people hand out on the street and stuff like that, then put them on my wardrobe doors which is now a collage of collected scraps, beer mats, fliers, cards, tickets, napkins with stuff written on and badges. I like it, it's totally personal.

I also have a large collection of books, but that's more an amassed collection over time than active seeking for collection.

I'm only joking of course, I don't really collect stamps. Honestly what kind of guy do you think I am? ;)

Hmm, excuse me a second, I think I hear some screaming down in the basement.

Game guides, I have tons of them. I barely ever use them I just like having them.
Bit of a waste of money when I think about it... but then again a lot of the money I spend is wasted.

I have a collection of shot glasses, actually; every time I go to a new state or a theme park or something, I wind up getting one. I'm not entirely sure why, but I've been collecting them since I was a little kid.

Also, for the guy who collects the lids from his beer bottles: I hope you don't drink much, because otherwise, storage is going to be a huge issue. Last year, my (on campus, collegiate) apartment had a gap between the top of the cabinets and the ceiling that was just big enough for a beer bottle. By the end of the year, not only was that completely lined with bottles, but we had a cabinet so full of empty beer bottles in need of recycling that we had to go check out a cart from the lobby to carry them all to the recycling bins -- and this was after we carried out a pretty good sized trash bag every month or two. We got some very approving looks from random passers by.

My room is full of swords, daggers, and other sharp things. Really my "collection" is just anything I see on a shelf and think, "Oooo that is shiny/pretty/awesome I want it!"
