Well, I just had a fairly abysmal run in TF2 today, but before you dismiss me as a whiny emo kid, I'm wondering what is a good way to relax or give yourself a sense of accomplishment after losing a competitive game?

Play Red Faction: Guerilla with every cheat enabled. It's the most satisfying thing ever.

Eat some tasty treats... but not too many. Obesity is a terrible problem among the youth of today, so exercise regularily. Which brings me neatly to my next idea, exercise... great way to relieve stress and anger. Wow, that is the most sense I have ever made when linking 2 points together. :D

Play a game that you're really good at to remind you that you're not n00b scum.

I've lost count of the times I've had to bust out Hitman: Blood Money after an hour or two on TF2...

I go at it again and play down right viciously. My dad and I had a first to 12 wins on Tekken Tag Tournament. He was winning like 8 to 6 so i just when balls out and evened it up 9 to 9 before going bat shit crazy again and kicking his ass all the way to 9 to 12. So if you lose horribly, play again, but play as aggressively as possible.

Saints Row 2, with the following cheats:
Never Die
Low Gravity
Evil Cars
Drunk Pedestrians

Nothing like watching a psychotic gang boss flying four hundred feet into the path of a murderous ice-cream van to make the urge to kill things go away.

Since I'm always playing things during the night, if I lost (I don't rarely lose, but when I do, it's a complete failure), I just go outside and relax under the starlit skies. Always calms me down. (I bet all the gamers are saying "What the hell is this guy thinkin?")

POW! Right in the kisser!

OK, not really. I don't stray into multiplayer territory other than co-op... The few times I've played a competitive multiplayer game, I lost anyway, so I guess after losing horribly I just... keep playing.

I exploit a glitch in nazi zombies "nacht der untoten" that makes them all stand in a corner and then I buy the kar98 and just shoot heads till I feel relaxed, does wonders and is great fun with a friend

My cousin has started using Link in SSBB and now I beat him once every like 10 games, as opposed to whiping the floor with him every single time I played against him.

I yell shenanigans the entire match, and keep playing until I win.

I went for like half an hour once, you figure I would have stopped running into his smashes, but there's two! An air-dodge only stops the first one... TT.TT

Edit:

Stop playing the game and call a RL friend. Go hang out with them, and actually live life.
Dude, he wanted actual advice, and this is a gaming forum.

Seriously, don't hate.

I consider games to be part of life btw.

I normally cry a little on the inside, quietly swear under my breath, grab a soda, then get back into another match and hope I do better.
