I usually jump on my trampoline. Then shout at my friend (We usually play together) and blame everything on him. it makes me feel better.

Get pissed yet don't show it. Or think of horrible things to do to your enemies.
There are few games better than TF 2 for this.
On topic: play a puzzle game or platformer. Those are great for a sense of achievement. Or something like painkiller to work off the stress.

If it's a single player game, I blame the developers for their terrible game design, curse them under my breath, and strengthen my resolve to beat the level.

If it's a multiplayer game, I blame my team for their noobishness and lack of teamwork, curse them under my breath, and strengthen my resolve to win the match.

Edit: Oh wait, you wanted ways to relax after a defeat. In that case, just put the game down and go for a walk, then come back to it.

Dude, he wanted actual advice, and this is a gaming forum.

Seriously, don't hate.

I consider games to be part of life btw.
No hate involved actually. That is my actual way of getting over a terribly loss at a game. If you want a game related solution, then mine would be simply switching to a different genre of game.

Same here. I can't finish on a bad game. I have to finish on a good one.

When I lose a game, I silently curse the victors with a collection of naughty words and then forget about it.

Often, I'll switch to some goal-less video game I know I can do well at, while taking glee in causing lots of pain on people. GTA is great for that.

In TF2, often it just comes to me blaming my team for perfectly legitimate reasons.

Whine, blame it on lag and then report the winners for modding.

That's what 90% of the community does, rite?

I exploit a glitch in nazi zombies "nacht der untoten" that makes them all stand in a corner and then I buy the kar98 and just shoot heads till I feel relaxed, does wonders and is great fun with a friend
They fixed that
And at the same time, they also fixed my fun-having abilities...

What do I do when I lose horribly?
I just don't lose in the first place
[/lies]
Nah, I just tend to go silent (I usually play with friends over XBL)
Then, when (if) I start winning well again, I get all talky
So silence is my medicine

Start doing well on a different game. I don't totally get people who talk about wanting 'a challenge', mostly when something is irritatingly difficult I get pissed off...

Well, I just had a fairly abysmal run in TF2 today, but before you dismiss me as a whiny emo kid, I'm wondering what is a good way to relax or give yourself a sense of accomplishment after losing a competitive game?
If you have a PS3 get Flower and simply embrae in it's relaxingness
it's almost like weed

Play Devil may cry 3 with gameshark and just beat the hell out of everything.
