Throwing their life away? What's the point of life? Without girls getting pregnant, none of us would be here.

Many teens are more competent then you give them credit for, and I'm not encouraging it but if they decide to keep it for whatever reason the least anyone can do is not treat them like crap for it.
And that's just plain bullshit. Now I don't know how you can even think teenagers are on the same level as adults and therefore fit to raise a child but I will make one thing very clear. If you're to young to be held accountable for our actions you're to young to raise a child. If a teenage girl got pregnant I would do everything in my power to prevent her from giving birth, not only for the sake of the child but for the sake of the mother as well.

For I obviously know what is best for the world.

It's not like it's anything new, and it's likely not going to change.

The only thing I have to really gripe about is that it's really not that hard to get a condom and wear it. They're relatively cheap, and come in packages with multiple condoms. Seriously, it's not rocket science.

Depends if the parents have a chance to actually be successful or not. More often than not, she may as well get pregnant because she's never going to amount to anything useful.

An old friend of mine knocked up his 14 year old girlfriend I couldnt stop laughing at the sheer stupidity of him. You are throwing your life away and if you want to have sex early on atleast do it safe.

I personally feel it should be downright punishable. It's awful, it's everywhere, and the world doesn't need more kids as it is now. I'm not really a fan of overpopulation, or of teenage parents who got absolutely no comprehension as you raise a child, which then leads to the world having even more useless people. If you get pregnant by "accident", it's partly your fault. You don't deserve help for it. Just please rot away, and free up the space in society.

From the numbers I've seen, teenage pregnacies cost the US 9$ billion a year. Just chew on that number for a bit. They don't deserve any kind of help, unless you count a shovel to the face, help.

After all, if you look around you, most of the time all you will see in stupid teenagers. None of them has the comprehension to be a parent, they got the comprehension to be a drone, and that's about it.

In short; Teenage pregnacies are some nasty shit, and I honestly feel it should be punishable, because there's no excuse to it. They wreck their lives, meaning they can't be an asset to society, meaning they got no use and could just as well go disappear somewhere.

It's hard to call it "wrong", however I do think it a little stupid to get pregnant at a very young age. At very young ages there are some nasty health risks involved.

It is in my opinion partly due to poor sex education, people need to get over their personal issues with this topic, realise that kids will have sex, like it or not, and thus the more they know the safer it will be. I also believe greater access to birth control would go a long way to help too.

However I realise there are those who take issue with birth control just as much as they do sex education, so this will for quite a long time, I feel, be an issue.

That's a bit...I can't really find a polite word...extreme? It's called pro choice for a reason, the mother can choose whether or not to abort based on what she thinks is right as opposed to what others think, yourself included.

You're entitled to your opinion but personally I think it's foolish to judge everyone as inferior based on age.

If the mother was past the age of consent I would not object to her having the child. As it stands, giving birth below the age of 21 can be detrimental to both to the child and parents. There's a reason why teenagers are not considered equal to adults and the reason should be quite obvious.

For a long time, I also held that opinion. Whilst equality across all ages is a wonderful pipe dream, it will never happen and it should never happen. Teenagers do not have what it takes to raise a child. We "discriminate" against them because they simply do not have enough experience with life to make rational decisions. That's why teenagers worldwide are under the authority of their parents. You want a person who has two other people responsible for their actions be responsible for the actions of another person?

You can't force a procedure like that on a person, it's a hard enough decision as is and being forced to without being in agreement is traumatizing. And I know a good number or young mothers and I honestly wouldn't be able to tell them they're unfit parents because quite frankly they're doing better then anyone gives them credit for.

I never said I would force them. I would encourage the mother to abort the child, being the best option available, but I would never force someone to have an abortion. The best way to combat teenage pregnancy is still through education. If a teenager became pregnant and choose to keep the child then the best course of action would be to ensure the child has adequate living conditions and a social worker ready to provide support when needed. Above all else, the parents of both teens need to be made aware of the pregnancy.

That seems more reasonable though I think a better option would be better education of, and easy access to, condoms. Easier on everybody.

So I live in a pretty small town and whenever I go to school there seems to be more and more girls between the age of 14-16 getting pregnant. I think its pretty stupid, the girls are throwing their life away but they all think its cool and sweet and it makes them more popular. I'm just like wtf? So do you guys think teen pregnancy is bad or good and why so?
They did it because it was cool? All the teenage sluts I know get pregnant by accident, or just by being REALLY REALLY stupid.

To sum up my thought- Wear a god danm condom!!! (No underage sex isn't ok in the first place.)

Honestly they were careless and foolish enough to not think of their concequence to do it in the first place. Even if they thought of it but risk it anyway they are still foolish. (I mean why can't they just wait until they're older?)

Its been glamourized by TV shows and movies and made to seem like its a good thing. Its acted upon as if it will always have a happy ending.
