There aren't enough good Nintendo games.

I really liked the old good ones like Zelda and Pikmin.

Most definately lack of Co-op, but other things too like a tidalwave of online accounts and registrations, and poor PC ports (I'm looking at YOU, Saints Row 2... One of the best games ever and now I hate you forever).

(In case you hadn't noticed, I'm almost entirely a PC exclusive gamer)

Oh, speaking of which, lack of pokemon on the PC. Yes, I have an emulator, but having an online trading and battling community would be one of the most awesome things ever. Stupid Nintendo and their handheld consoles.

None of the developers actually CARE about their games any more. Back in the good times, developers would put their soul (Not literally...) into the game, now they just feel as if the game's been slapped together out of scraps from the bin.

Edit: Some exceptions, of course. But not that many.

This. Said exceptions are of course UT3.

Okay, I guess Valve's Source games kinda count as 'new'. I haven't played any CoD games, so I can't decide on those.

Too many cutscenes for stories that aren't worth a damn. I'm thinking every Square Enix game that comes out (including Just Cause 2).

Why can't you let me have my stupid fun without stopping every 15 minutes to show me a cutscene i'm gonna skip?

The one thing I hate is the lack of PC ports. No, not console exclusives. Those I can understand, they are meant to sell a console. I'm talking about games that come out on more than one console, but don't come out on the PC. Games like FF13, Bayonetta, Red Dead Redemption, Darksiders (though I did hear something about a PC port coming this summer), etc. If something is out on both the 360 and PS3, then it's not an exclusive, is it? And yet I get screwed...

Another thing I dislike is the dominance of FPS games on the current market and I'm counting the months until it finally starts to recede...

I don't hate anything about new games. There are good games, bad games, brilliant games and steaming piles of shit being released all the time. There always has been and there always will be. Hating something because it doesn't meet my exact standards of perfection seems like a complete waste of my time. Time I could spend playing games.

What the fuck happened to good platformers? or good JRPGs?
They still make good JRPGs. The only thing is that you don't like them while other people do. Try Persona 3 FES and Persona 4. They're absolutely brilliant.

modern gamers mostly, they think that "mw2 is da betx!!111" when really, Counter Strike Is : / but really, people that like Counter Strike, and think that it created modern FPS's games, people older than US thought that doom or Duke Nukem was the da shit : / so really, it's just generations hating the new generations, it doesn't only apply with gaming, with life as well... why do you old people sit at their lawn and shout "why I otta!" : ) it's because they hate our generation, and we'll be the same.

oh- and to the OP
just generic FPS that are taking over this world, don't like the modern fat man 'wobble' that every FPS seems to have now, does any one know what I mean ? Like the retarded wobble in BC2 instead of the smooth gameplay of FT2, Half Life, Counter Strike, L4D : )

Yes, THEIR COST.
It's still cheaper than it was in the days of the SNES (FFVI new was $99. FFXIII was $59) and N64 ($110 for a game -- no thanks, I'll just switch to the fancy new CD based system called PSX). The price has been about the same $59 - $69 ever since.

At least here in Canada...
??? hey, I'm Canadian too! as for my statement, allow me to explain:

I realize back in the old-school era games costed the equivalent of a human lung. but in the PS2/GCN/XBOX generation games struck a perfect balance of cost and appeal. Only around 20-40 bucks.

So I mean games cost more today IN COMPARISON to the previous generation.

I agree with the OP. What is the big deal with putting multiplayer into your games. It is okay to have that as an extra thing but focusing on it is a waste of time with titans like halo, battlefield and call of duty. The single player just doesn't get what it needs. I'm alright with CO-Op if it is done well but not absolutely necessary like in Resi 5 or Lost Planet 2

There's things I like about new games, but things I don't like tend to ruin the things I do.

Things I do like:
-the look of new games; nice graphics look cool, what can I say?
-co-op multiplayer; sometimes my friends and I want to play with each other, not against each other
-DLC; just the fact that we can get new content for our games is cool, even if we have to pay for it

Things I don't like:
-focus on pretty graphics over story and characters; yes, I do like shiny graphics, but a good story is FAR more important than that. You don't have to sacrifice one for the other, so don't!
-multiplayer implementation; did I mention I want to play WITH my friends? I mean, in the same room. Come on guys, it's just a lot more fun. Any online multiplayer community just sucks. I want to play with my friends, not a random 12-year-old with Tourette's.
-FPS flood (and I don't mean the Halo enemies); TOO MANY FPS!!! I rather dislike FPS. That says it all.
-DLC that's already on the hard disk; It's on the freaking disk. We have already paid for it. Let us play it. Having to download something else to unlock it, and even perhaps pay for that thing, is total bullshit.

There are a lot of complaints that I have, but most of them fall under the "Company/Console Specific" category, so I guess I have to go with how insanely dark games are (dark as in impossible to see, not dark as in adult themes). Seriously! I put up the contrast and brightness to the max, and all I can see is maybe a lightbulb that's on. C'mon!

The hype generated by their marketing now. I liked being surprised by releases, but now they is like a 6+month marketing campaign...
