Intelligence, sense of humour and confidence are all very important. Being non-religious and having a shared hobby aren't "must haves" for a relationship, but they certainly feature.

On the looks front, I tend to go for dark hair over light, and a slender build over a bulky one. I prefer male faces that lean just a little bit towards effeminacy, and I like nice shoulders.

And willing to be adventurous in bed. That's also important. ;)

If I was being specific: Kind, Attractive (I really don't care that she be drop-dead gorgeous - If anything, girls like that put me off going past the 'Hur-Hur Sheez Hot' stage'), Shorter than me, and intelligence and interests similar to mine.

The worst part was when I found a girl with all these and was to much of a coward to ask her out =(

Well while in the realm of fantasy, attractive and tall. A gamer. Great sense of humor. Trustworthy, intelligent, kind, easy-going. More than likely doesn't want kids. And a great smile. But I doubt I'll get that.

In the realm of reality, mildly attractive, intelligent, trustworthy, and at least somewhat funny. But I doubt I'll get that either.

Ah preference lists, haven't made these in years because when it comes down to the deal thing all the lists are out the window, you can either get along with them or not.

Only real constraints I have is gender and mental stability, but when it comes to girls you haveto be real flexible on the latter.

I'm not very good at writing it down. Most things I put seem obvious and simple and yet I fail to find someone to meet the criteria.

My preference is basically all to do with personality. With appearance I could just say averagely attractive, but it probably wouldn't matter because if I loved them they'd look nice no matter what to me.

Intelligent, similar sense of humour, common interest, similar values etc.
I'd like if they were a particularly independent type of person, it would make it feel nicer if they felt they needed me.
Also the type of person who feels like we don't have to be constantly kissing to be in a relationship. I find it weird when I see couples spending time with eachother and all they're doing is kissing in public places.
A girl who understands the simple joy of schadenfreude.
I'd like her to have her own individual quirks. It makes her seem special, it's cute, and that way you just have more to know about her.
A person who doesn't treat smiling like it should be the natural face, and isn't always laughing. Firstly I hate it when people think smiling and being happy is a choice, and secondly, I don't want to be with someone who is constantly happy and smiling, because then it feels like no matter what I do I could never make them happier than they are in their everyday life.
Edit: I don't think I could ever be with a girl who feels she needs make up to be able to step outside her house, or feels she has enough important stuff to carry around that she needs a handbag.

Managed to think of more things than usual there.

It seems silly, as most people can end up falling for someone who isn't their 'type', it depends on the individual. But here goes: I look for a girl with personality, and a sense of humour. Looks are really not too important to me, barring extremely overweight or muscled girls.
I like guys that are slightly effeminate, with good personality and a good sense of humour. Looks are a bit more important when looking at guys, though I honestly couldn't describe my 'type', but I need to feel a level of attraction at least. Don't like muscles or fat on guys either.

We have to understand each other.
We have to have as many similar interests as we have different ones.
We must be sexually attracted to each other.
They must close the door when using the bathroom.

I look for a lovely and caring girl with long jet-black hair who can cuss out a group of sailors and kick some ass when she wants to.

*Pause*

Okay, yes. I DID find one a long time ago and I'm just bragging, alright?

Well escapabillibambadoes, just what the question asks! What o you look for in a woman or a man? How do you rank the different factors like appearance, intelligence and personality?
My ranking goes: Personality, Intelligence, Appearance.

I prefer a woman that can hold a conversation and has a good personality. As in shes mature, but not dull. Shes kind, but isn't afraid to fight back when she is wronged. She will do everything she can to help her boy friend when he needs help, instead of leaving him.

Looks are just icing on the cake. We all grow old an ugly anyway so looks in a long term relationship are irrelevant.

Well...
First impression, what I see. So in my taste can't be ugly.
Then if/when I get to know her better. She can't be an idiot or otherwise unpleasant. She doesn't need to be any super fun over the top active girl but not super dull either.

To rank this.
Most people say that appearance isn't too important but if she doesn't look good to you then no way you'll go for it.
Intelligence, no one wants a stupid girl but I doubt she has to be super smart.
Personality - if you guys click then it's okey and if she has some annoying features it might be dealt with.

So If one of these traits are a little below what you want then it will work, 2 might be a problem and if one of them is waaaay away from what you want then it wont work.
So I won't rank them, because all is needed but I think the one you might survive the most without is the intelligence.

1.Personality + Intelligence
2.Looks

Any of the above can be a deal breaker though.

2 breasts and a pulse.

If i've had enough to drink .... pulse is optional.
Is that only 2 or just a guideline?
Thinking about the three-breasted hooker from Total Recall or the monoboob as mentioned in American Dad...

Just a guideline.

If I was to come across a lass like the 3 breasted hooker from TR then I would be a very happy bunny.

Although i'd have to forget buying her any sexy underwear. I've yet to see a 3 cup bra.

Someone who I can get along with, someone with my morbid sense of humor, someone who can play games with me, someone who can eat the foods I like with me (bonus points if she can cook/bake them), someone who can make me laugh, someone who I can make laugh, someone who can MST3K movies, TV and Games with me, someone who can sing with me, someone who thinks I'm adorable instead of insane, someone who is smart (and graceful enough to not rub it in when it's obvious she's smarter than I am), someone who likes to collect things with me, someone who doesn't consider me a hoarder for my collecting tendencies, someone who's supportive of me and my insanity but most importantly: Someone who has a great rack (just kidding: though that does grant bonus points to be honest) But if she laughed at that last one that would be great.

I met my one and she's all of the above. I am happy and will be back home with her in just over 24 hours actually!

Something different. Something that sets them apart from the norm whether it be appearance or a personality trait. This probably explains why I go for goth/scene girls but this usually conflicts with my second requirement; MUST still look pretty without makeup. The few that don't need makeup to look amazing and don't wear it constantly out of peer pressure often aren't given enough recognition for it. Another must is nice eyes. There is nothing better than staring into a pair of eyes that make you melt.
