On a more serious note, we've got the best damn tea in the world.
Uhm, doesn't great britain largely import it's tea from abroad? : /
Ever heard of yorkshire tea?
Yes.

Ever heard that Yorkshire tea is made from variants of tea grown in Assam, East Africa and Sri Lanka? :)
Yup. But it says Yorkshire on the pack, and that's who I believe.

The Sri Lankans have a good cricket team, leave them with that. They don't need tea.

Excusing the fact that you didn't even complete your improper use of "you're", I'll move onto the question...

I enjoy my country because I have access to a lot of things some countries don't, such as fresh clean water, tasty food, good games and an internet connection. I could go on but I can't think of anything else at the moment.

I love the fact that Norway is, at the time of posting, #1 on the HDI and our systems are superior to the American ones.

Its a very lucky place to be born. Being born in the U.S.A., as with most of Europe, is like winning a birth lottery. There are many, many complaints I have about my country, and I'm sure many people here have seen me discussing them. However, I am glad to have been born here.

Well, can we settle for that yorkshire probably is very adept at blending the tea they import? It's probably a difficult and refined task in it's own, and will of course have a significant impact on the resulting flavour.

Then there's the fact that the british have created a very sophisticated tea culture, which (in my book) is far better than all the other countries obsessed with consuming ridiculous amounts of coffee, despite the fact that coffee tastes like shit. :p

Im sorry people, I know im being biased here, but when it comes to the choice between tea and coffee im a flaming anglophile. XD

Hehe, this got me thinking. You know how many liberal capitalists all oppose government intervention and all that. But really, would any capitalist citizen who has to suffer the extreme amount of adds and comercials actually get pissed off if the government just decided one day to outlaw the entire comercial industry?

Imagine a world without commercials, people. No interruptions in your favourite tv-shows. No telemarketing calls to your private home. No more annoying jingles that's simply impossible to get out of your head once they stick.

I for one would like that world. :p

Capitalists would certainly appose that idea. Within a Capitalist system, I would most likely oppose it because it would mean the end of almost all forms of entertainment.

On the other hand, an absolute overhaul of the Capitalist system to replace it with a Socialist one I would very much support.

I'm getting mighty curious about Sweden now with all these Swedes claiming they've got the most beautiful women in the world. I think i'll have to check this out for myself... In my opinion the French have the most beautiful women, and that judgement comes purely from observing French tourists in Italy :p

(English women are...are on the whole, less pretty than women from other countries.)

So, my country of England then:

1) Television culture and Comedy- Top Gear, QI, the BBC in general, Mock the Week, plenty of hilarious and entertaining shows. As well as Monty Python and Blackadder.

2)The music- Anything that involves an electric guitar we are good at. We had the Beatles, many popular pop-rock groups, and, of particular importance to me, we invented metal music!

3)The history. It's long, we have a lot of it and it's all around us. For instance, i live near Chester which was founded 2000 years ago, and was northern Europe's largest legionary fortress during the days of the Roman Empire. There are literally castles scattered all across the country, and you can eat in pubs which go back to the 17th century. When my grandmother was born we had the worlds largest Empire, and about fifty years before hand we pretty much made everything. That plus we also invented a heck of a lot as well. Britain is a good place to live in if you are interested in history, however i am sure it's the same with most other European countries as well.

I'm from Canada, and I love our health care plan!
I like our maple syrup, and I actually have a genuine beaver hat.
I'm actually not a huge fan of hockey, since I can't even skate myself.
I actually like autumn more than winter here, since winter is blistering cold, and I love it when the temperature is JUST right so I may walk outside wearing a hoodie and not be cold or warm.

I doubt it. Selling and spreading entertainment throughout different mediums doesn't require commercialism really. In fact, that's a myth that marketing companies just try to perpetuate with more or less successful results. (because if corporations simply wised up and learned that they don't really need to pay large sums of money funding marketing campaigns and the like to sell their products, marketing and PR-consultants and companies would find themselves out of a job)

Okay. But I'll not get into that debate. No need to get more off-topic than we already are. :)
