Lack of responsibility mostly - not having to think about paying for multiple household bills seems so far away, and being able to just head out with my friends for hours on end and doing nothing productive XD

And the price of things, everything seems so bloody expensive nowadays, but I guess that's not just because of price rise but again because I have to manage my own money

Being 6 and not giving a shit. Every memory I have beyond a certain point also seems to take place at the peak of Summer (bizarrely, since I'm assuming they can't exclusively be from that point in each year), which can add to the whole thing of wanting to be that age again.

Now all I get is having the fuck badgered out of me about going to University despite not knowing what I want to study or what I want to do as a job.

Still, I can get pissed now, so you win some and lose some.

Life being simple. You went to school. You played at recess. You went home and did homework. Then you played outside. Or maybe you did those last two in reverse order.
Summer actually meant time for fun, walking over to a friend's house to simply play in the back yard. Going on a trip felt like it lasted forever, in a good way. Christmas resulted in piles of presents under the Christmas tree. The countdown to the Disneyland trip couldn't come fast enough. A birthday in the class meant cupcakes or even cake for everyone. Teachers read a chapter a day out of a book, and the entire class listened perfectly. That last day of school, where it was nothing but a giant party out on the lawn with every grade involved. Sleepover at a friend's house, and everyone tries to stay up all night, but actually is passed out by 10 p.m. That one kid that has the NES and just got the latest Mario game and invited everyone over to play.
So yeah. Life being simple and fun.

The lack of caring about stuff. You could always know it would work out in the end. Now you are older you know it might not, and noone can bail you out of bills etc.

The lack of social pressure. As a kid you can do and say anything within reason, but the older you get the more you have to care as people judge you, and what you want to do and should do move further apart in some ways. You have lost some freedom to society even as you gain independence.

The innocence of believing I would live forever, and that we can all do whatever we want in a basically good world.

Sounds emo doesn't it? But it isn't all bad! I guess the real change of getting older is you gain a longer perspective which allows you to achieve and worry more.

Not being robbed 10 times a year, not having to fear for my life everytime I step out of home.
Propaganda free steets, not having to deal with cars honking at me and trying to hit me everytime I try crossing the street.
Jesus Christ, where do you live? As for me I miss enjoying every shitty movie/TV show regardless of it's quality. I mean I could actually sit down and enjoy the Batman and Robin movie.

The freedom. I didn't have to worry about anything at all. And summer vacation actually meant something.

How the world seemed so open and inviting, I really miss that. Also, the cartoons, they just blew my mind.

I miss gathering with my friends and playing around. Imagining stuff, thinking up random scenarious and playing through them... and hide and seek. I most definetely would go for a hide and seek right about now. I miss my childhood. It flew away so fast...

Pretty much this, now as an adult life is fun in a different way but there's a hell of a lot more choices and stress involved. Can't honestly remember much of my childhood now, was happy enough generally as though I wasn't that socialable I had a reasonable number of friends even if a lot more were female than the average pre-teen kid.

The lack of the feeling of getting excited about pretty much everything. That I really miss. As an adult, everything has to be so serious.

This is probably betraying how old I am (or at least how old I feel) but I miss the sleep the most. I used to get so much sleep when I was a kid, and sometimes I could easily get very little sleep and still have enough energy to go tree climbing in the woods or whatever the hell else I used to do.

Now I'm lucky if I can manage 4 or 5 hours a day, mostly it's something like 2 or 3.
