They were pretty expensive, usually they can go for $800+ but I was able to get a pretty heavy discount. Unfortunately the company closed a year or 2 ago which really sucks you can find some of their stuff on ebay sometimes but they are custom sized so it can be difficult to get a good pair.

My cars 3kW ICE always turns heads, my car is a stock Ford Focus not a boy racer car and it surprises people when it shakes the pavement. The system is disguised on the interior too, all the boxes and cases are finished in stock interior trim and takes up some of the boot but is not obvious and ostentatious. Until its turned on anyway.

I have a Mk1 escort in yellow, turns a few heads its also gets more attention at these car meets then the pricks that have spent 10k+ on a car with fancy lights and shit.

Ive only spent around 2'500 on mine over 10 yrs as i've done lot of the work myself

What you've got in your ford is what I plan to have in my Chevy Blazer. It looks stock until it's active, and then it'll turn a few heads. I'm planning out modifications that'll be practical, as well as luxurious, such as a pair of subwoffers mounted in the rear liftgate.

My taste in cars as changed as I passed 30, 5-10 years ago I might have got body kits and slammed it but I just dont feel that way now. Mind you 10 years ago I would never have been able to afford a brand new car, a beat up Ford Fiesta was my ride then with a silly exhaust that made it louder.

Getting it to fit in with the interior is easy if you are practical and good at upholstery, I had a lot of help from a friend who made the boxes and frames and fitted the carpets. The speakers where all picked to fit inside the original speaker mounts, a little extra sound proofing was fitted to avoid vibrations but that was fairly easy.

I'd say your taste has gotten a bit better. I've seen cars that are slammed and have these gross-looking body kits and mentally I throw up when I see them. There's racing suspension, and then there's retardation, and the main difference is whether you've ruined your exhaust by simply driving (which many people do around here, where the roads have more potholes than a junkie's basement). I had a similar situation to your Fiesta with my old Saturn: it had a busted muffler and when the engine turned it sounded like the car was farting. It was so sad it was hilarious. I'm quite glad that I no longer have that car, because it was simply terrible, in every sense of the word.

Most of my larger models and other projects have turned a few heads. I've even painted a few garden gnomes with my citadel paints for my grandmother, which guests tend to notice (some people think they're unnerving).

The thing is with your old Saturn is they do make you appreciate it when you get something better.

I really hate feeling every bump in the road, and it's not particularly good for the structural integrity of the vehicle either: speakers in that Saturn actually intermittently disconnected from their wiring by sheer vibration alone. Not to mention when people put it so low that they actually have to do some cutting into the wheelwells just to lower it further. I saw a Chevy S-10 for sale by my neighbor's place and it had a bed that had no floor whatsoever, completely negating its use as a pickup truck. Why? because he wanted to lower it further. At that point, I really have to ask, what IS the point?

And about the Saturn: you're definitely right about that: everything I drove or rode in since felt like a Rolls Royce after I had spent 2 years driving that thing to work and back. It was that bad. Now, my little Blazer, even with the issues it has, feels like a Cadillac in comparison. Don't ever get a Saturn SW. Ever.

well, let's see, I've got a MASSIVE Bionicle collection, a lego Death Star, Mario, Minecraft, Portal, and Half-life t-shirts (probably not that much of a head-turner, but whatever), a wall mirror with an image of Pinkie Pie engraved into it, and that's just the stuff in my bedroom. Some cars it works like a low rider which is about cruising instead and being low is a fashion statement rather than trying to make the car look like sporty. I have seen some ridiculous and pathetic attempts of slamming when I was younger and hanging around with impoverished boy racers (I was one too), people doing things like simply taking out the springs and cutting it down. Other stupid things like letting fluid out of Hydrolastic pods in old Austin Metros. My homemade Pyramid Head costume I made for Halloween last year. It's easily convention quality, but where I live there simply aren't any cons within 1000 miles for me to wear it to. I have the head in my open closet, on top of my huge stack of boxes holding 15 years of Marvel comics. My great knife is leaned up against the wall behind my TV. I turned quite a few heads wearing it around the river landing where I live. I also got a few applauses, and some people stopping me for photos.

I have this monster-looking hat thing that I got back when Gaia Online was still a thing in my life.Thankfully, I grew out of that phase, but it's still a fun hat to wear. I also have my super thick ski mask, but that usually elicits "OMG I need one of those" rather than weird looks. Then there's my crocheted Espeon and Umbreon plushies, I'm really proud of how those turned out, some of the shaping was interesting...
And hopefully soon I'll be getting another thing for people to stare at, since I won a Luigi wallet from a contest.
