Our failure to work against a common goal. There are so much resources on the planet, and so much workpower going to waste. If the entire human race was as organized as an anthill...I seriously doubt there is a limit to what we could achieve.

Instead, we waste our resources on stupid weapons, fuel for the warmachine and fucking bribes for FIFA. God damnit. Humanity is so depressing.

Existence.
Perfect post and avatar combo.

As for me, probably just the whole massive scale treating people like shit/killing people instead of learning how to coexist peacefully.

Somehow humanity developed with a fatal weakness: to intrinsically trust charisma over reason. To be honest, our brains are capable of a great many delusions and false intuitions, but trusting those who purely sound like they know what they're on about is a fatal flaw.

Religion. All of them. No single incident of death will ever do more damage than religion has. Their casualty numbers still going strong.

Edit: I wont bother responding anymore. I firmly stand by my view on this though. But I am being called a villian for hating something that hated me first for being different.

I am not wrong for hating murderers. I am not wrong for hating people who trample on freedom. I am not wrong for being for equal rights. Those all describe what religion often is.

And no, Im not a troll. A troll just wants to anger people. I merely want a better world.
You sir, speak the truth to the fullest degree. I'm disappointed, but not surprised so many people disagree.

We get it, a lot of people hate religion, but the world stopped caring about such biased opinions a long time ago. How are the casualties religion causes "still going strong"? When did part of the world take up arms against another religion (The Crusades don't count, that was quite a while ago)?. Religion in the past was simply abused by the powerful by inciting fear in their subjects. What about wars, death and destruction committed in the name of "liberty"?
Would the war in Afghanistan count? Since that is Muslim extremists fighting against people, one of the reasons being religion.

OT: Yeah, Religion.
No, it wouldn't. We're (as in, the western soldiers) are not there to stop the practicing their religion, we're there for their oil, under the facade of bringing liberty to their people.
The extremists are using their so-called "religion" as an excuse for massacring others; nowhere in the Islamic bible, nor their teachings, do they tell their followers to destroy "infidel westerners". Infact, it's the exact opposite, like all (almost all) religions, where they preach peace and loving and all that other "crazy" stuff. Once again, it's a select few followers that give it a bad name.
That's not to say i have no qualms with Islam...it's just that they're not told to be "terrorists" through religious teachings.

I got two but I can't really decide which is worse:
Religion or development of emotions.
Don't get me wrong I love traditions, culture and history. But fact is that there would been some kind of culture/history/tradition even without religion, it would just be different. I do not like religion, had ban experiences with it and it clouds the reason and logic out of peoples minds, I respect reason and logic more than I do anything else.
And emotions... they cloud the reason and logic, also you make really bad decisions with it and it usually end up in more fail than required.

I have right for my opinions, so don't bother giving me angry private message of how I "disrespect" jesus/god/santaclaus or how I "hate" you personally, I don't I hate everyone equally and alike, including me and my family.

Oh... And my 3rd option would be, idiots.

My vote is more personally biased, but I think the American economic system. Anything goes capitalism is why we root for the underdog, but celebrate people that step on them to get to the top. Too many of us are poor, too many of us barely get by, and still a low percentage of us not only get increasingly wealthier, we do so without concern for each other. Perhaps universal health care flies in the face of capitalism, but thanks to capitalism medicine that costs only about a nickel in communist countries can bankrupt the working class.

But hell, what are a few hundred lost jobs as long as CEOs can still write themselves nice fat bonus checks for a job well done?

Apparently, it's just un-American to look out for each other unless there's money to be had doing it.

I vote this over WW2 because in the long term more people have died and will die from poverty related disease, illness, hunger, etc across the world, because American capitalism is not only about every man for himself, it's also apparently contagious.

I want off this world.

I'd like to, as a former atheist, offer a thought; perhaps it is not the religion that is flawed, but those who practice it? At least, I found myself opening up to the concept once I realized it wasn't god or the church I despised, it was the people that used it to justify things like intolerance and oppression. I'm a christian, I do not hate gay people at all (some of my friends are gay), and I am not opposed to their getting married. We're not all bible thumping retards out to wag our smug fingers at people that do wrong, in fact christians aren't even really supposed to be doing that.

Simply, my point is that maybe it's not the club, but the members, you should resent.

*soapbox ends*
Trust me. I have tried many ways of voicing this to appease people. When I blame the people, its not their fault, its the institution. When I blame the institution, it is merely twisted by the people. Apparently I have to get a world census and go name by name to appease people. But I tire of trying to appease people. When you try to appease the bad people, they just push it even further. (A certain WW2 happened cause of that)
I am not popular in this thread. The responses infuriate me. I feel like religion has wronged me and many others, and I call them out and I am the bad one? But whatever. I never felt the majority was generally right, so I wont start now. Ive already seen some people agree with my views, and thats all I need for some shred of hope.

A small price to pay if it meant removing the more offensive ones like Christianity and Islam. Its one of the few that actively do good. (though I am also not so informed on that one as I am to some others)

I'm gonna go with...

People that can't think of better things to do other than rant on about how people used to fail in the past.

Or the US.

The fact that the hormone that controls reproductive urges and muscular growth also heightens aggression. While, from an evolutionary standpoint, it does make sense that higher testosterone levels (in theory, greater muscle mass) lead to increase reproductive rates (for a species that continually grows stronger), in the long term it also - at least, as I see it - means that we are genetically disposed to become a more and more violent species as time carries on. In a way, this frightens me.

People can baww all they want over this viewpoint but there's a lot of truth in it. For every good thing that religion gives us you have a non-religious equivalent and one glaring negative.

Example; religion teaches people to behave, this can also be accomplished with morals, but religion also causes people to impose heavily outdated morals on our society.

ok i was with you till your im not wrong thing because at that point you start sounding like anyone who is religous is a murderer and tramples on freedom. that is probily why people see you as a troll.(i dont see your first comment as such but that one statment is rather trolly)
OT: once again hes right religions do tend to be epic fails not in their message or in their beleifs but more in how they are used to justify some of the worst acts in history.

This. I really don't have anything to add...all you have to do is look through this topic and see the amount of conflict within a single online community--a place where we're supposed to be able to get along simply because it's built around a hobby we all enjoy.
