JFK was assassinated by an alternative timeline version of himself as three men and a mechanoid messed up the original assassin's shot.

Kudos to anyone who recognises the reference.
timesplitters?
I live that game, through my old Xbox out yesterday though, so can't play it anymore :(

On topic: the twin towers done by the US, I don't have any evidence, or know a lot about it, but the US has got trillions to gain from going to war for the oil, and by doing that maybe avoiding a economic recession.

I don't have anything else to back up my claim, but that is the only "conspiracy theory" I might believe.

probably that the moon landings were faked.

don't get me wrong, i think that they happened, but that is the only conspiracy theory that made me seriously think about whether it could be true or not.

Personally, if I were to put faith in ANY conspiracy theory, I'd put my money on the one unveiled in the 9/11 episode of South Park.

The sites and groups claiming that 9/11 is a government conspiracy are in fact part of a government conspiracy to make our government seem all-powerful.

its all a conspiracy man.
^^
sorry, I just get annoyed when people say this, even if they are joking, so I'd like to introduce you to this [http://www.cracked.com/article_15740_was-911-inside-job.html].
thats a good counter point
although the twin tower seems to have fallen like controlled demoltion more of an inplosion than an explosion
of course it could have been the weight of the building that caused it to fall like a house of cards
although the best thing we can do here is give a silent moment a memoriel and move on and continue in life and try and make things better for all."keep moving forward"

I like the Freemason idea. It's complete BS but some of my friends joined a Masonic Temple so they'd be on the right side when the time comes.
I'm a Mason, and we're not up to anything. Trust me, most of us are just old men.
AHA! That's just what "They" want us to think!

I am so just kidding. I actually wrote a short story in High School about a guy who gets hit by lightning, and goes into a parallel dimension where he meets "Them" (You know, the people that you're talking about when you say things like "They say that blah blah blah") I can't remember all the dialogue, but I remember the best line from it: Main character: "Wait, you mean you're them? As in they? As in the "them" that everyone gives everything credit for?" Them: "That's right, that's us." Main character: "They say that you guys don't really exist." Them: "No we didn't."
I actually had someone accuse me of being a part of the conspiracy in high school because I was in a youth group organized by us Masons, to which I simply walked away laughing at his craziness.
Wait! Are you telling me the Masons aren't conquering the world with genetically engineered radioactive fish children with missile fingers!?
Missile fingers? That's just silly, we give them missile nipples....oh wait...said too much. Where do you live, what with having to kill you now.

I'd say the most believable conspiracy is the "only the cockroaches will survive nuclear armageddon". Simply because if that's the case, we won't have survived the armageddon to check, therefore believing this conspiracy requires no effort at all.

Some of the ones here I'd never heard of, unsurprisingly - I was more surprised I did know of a few, actually. But that rainbow woman? Wtf?

I don't believe any conspiracy theory, save for maybe some UFOs, but my favourite has always been Princess Diana and the car crash. Now that has some serious questions that need answering.

(Sigh) I have entirely too much time on my hands. Damn self-employment.

I'm gonna go outside and talk to a girl.
That story sounds really interesting. If you have a copy kicking about it might be a fun read.

Never heard that one. I think the theory that Kurt Cobain was killed is fairly convincing. The fact that the shotgun was too long for him to shoot himself has me stumped.
I agree. The length of the shotgun, the fact that he was found with enough heroin in his system that he would have been physically unable to shoot himself, the fact that someone was using his credit cards after he died, the testimonies of all his friends, Courtney Love's less-than-passionate response...

I don't think it's impossible that he killed himself, but it's credible to think that he had help. In About a Son he goes on for a while about how he isn't depressed and how he'd do anything to be with his daughter as much as possible. Whichever story you believe, it's worth being suspicious of the other.

But I wasn't there, so I have no idea.
