Never heard that one. I think the theory that Kurt Cobain was killed is fairly convincing. The fact that the shotgun was too long for him to shoot himself has me stumped.
Some idiot once publicly suggested that he used his toe to pull the trigger on the WAY too long shotgun.

Uh, okay that makes sense, but how did he put his shoe back on after he shot himself?

Yeah that one bugs me too...
I dunno - what was the angle of the shot? If it was a low angle shot (i.e. he had the gun under his chin or some such) then I'll generally buy that he killed himself. If it was a fairly flat trajectory or from above then it's almost certainly a muder.

At any rate, music only improved thanks to his passing. Him and that guy from sublime.

After that molitov I think I'll lay low for a bit, also I did kinda like Nirvana. Just not to the extent that people suddenly decided to once Cobain was found sans head.

What is your favourite conspiracy theory and do you think it is believable? My favourite is the New Age in 2012 although im not sure it is quite certain.
Doesn't the new age start some time in the next century, when we pass into.. Aquarius I think? In any case, 2012 is something of a hobby of mine but I wouldn't call it a conspircy (if your talking about the Mayans) but more of ... hysteria.

My most believable conspiracy: The CIA was behind the death of JFK. I find this very believable considering JFK was appalled at the very fact the CIA could put together a document like 'operation Northwood' with every intention of carrying it out. I find it no suprising that after this act he started to disband the CIA, only to be assassinated before being able to sign the documents... big coincidence, given the primary existence of the CIA was to over throw leaders it didn't like....

For those who don't know: Operation Northwood was a document penned by the CIA involving the surface to air strike on a handful of US airlines, carrying US citizens, and blaming this act of murder on Cuba to justify a war.

JFK was assassinated by an alternative timeline version of himself as three men and a mechanoid messed up the original assassin's shot.

Kudos to anyone who recognises the reference.
Ah yes saw that episode on dave the other day ,shame probably the best episode since the series went action-crazy and gave up on humor(it`s Red dwarf)

UFO's are most believable in my opinion...
Now if you will excuse me, I must put on my tin-foil hat before the radio waves cause me to become a pawn to the government.

For all of the people who believe Zeitgeist/Loose Change/any other conspiracy video on the internet, I ask you - keep an open mind. For every conspiracy theory website there is a debunk site. Please don't believe everything these films say. They thrive on manipulating media and taking quotes out of context. Try this - watch the video's with as much suspicion and distrust as you would if the government made them. You'll start seeing a lot of holes in their stories.

I'm not saying there isn't a conspiracy or anything BTW. Just think its best if people look at both sides objectively.

Well I don't believe it but it's not very heart-warming: The "2012 end of world theory" comes from the Mayan calendar that states 2012 as the "end of time".
Actually, sorry to derail a little, most of these "translations" come from people who know squat about the Mayan culture or language! These people thought it would make for better telling to create a 'end of time' fable where one does not exist. All so better to fit into the western idealism where end of the world/end of time belief is quite common. Now we have a date to pin it too, yaaaaay!

The archaeologists I listened to when researching this very curious and indeed astronomical (pun not intended) event told a very different story. There is NO end of time story surrounding the calendar! Nothing in the Mayan culture talks about an end of time or an end of the world, period let alone around this date. They knew very well that when one date ended a new one begun, hell they had a second calendar for the 'rough' stuff that ended once a traditional year. Hence: they knew how a calendar worked!

Problem is hunting down these archaeologists though, now thanks to the flood of 2012 hysteria on the net it is like wading through a sea of stupid....

But I found some words from someone who is not stupid on the matter:
"We [the archaeological community] have no record or knowledge that [the Maya] would think the world would come to an end in 2012."
Susan Milbraath, curator of Latin American Art and Archaeology at the Florida Museum of Natural History.

Indeed, archaeologists know very well that there ARE dates past the 2012 mark in Mayan culture, which really blows holes in the whole 2012 is the end of the world. After all why mark down special astronomical events or when to calibrate some long dead kings anniversary AFTER the world is meant to... what... vanish?

The reason I find the Mayan calendar fascinating though is the shear amount of astronomical data the Mayans managed to amass. Aside from having a calendar that is more accurate then the one we use today they identified several key astronomical events that would happen and pinned that as the start/end of the calendar date. One particular one is pin pointing an alignment of the sun and the centre of the galaxy, to such an accurate degree they could predict exactly when it would occur thousands of years after their civilisation was scattered by the Spanish... now I bet they wish they could see that a coming.

They did this all the while using nothing but patterns cut into stone and their naked eyes! That is impressive to me seeing it took western scientists centuries afterwards to rediscover that they where right... and we had to use expensive high precision tools to do it! Give the ancient cultures their due, they where WAAAAY more observant to natural cycles then we are.

How did so many people die if everyone was saved by lifeboats? You said that there were fewer people then everyone thought, but that doesnt explain how so many people's family members never came home.

We didnt land on the moon in 1969. We may have landed on it at a later date, but definatley not in 1969. That is about the only conspiracy i beleive in.
I agree that your conspiracy theory may be true.
lucky for you, yours is one of the ones that will probally be proved or disproved quite soon when the new moon landings take place. (If they do)

As for this comment. i did say that i might get some facts mixed up. I watched this show over a year ago and it was over an hour long. there was a reason for the part about the families you brought up. there was a way they did it. I just cant remember after a year how it was done. Your welcome to look it up. Or you could just forget that part and choose to believe that the company was totaly evil. i dont mind.

Sos for the confusion and for anyone else that was confused.

the theory that EVERYTHING that happened in the original star wars trilogy could be traced to the actions of the gunner on the star destroyer at the start of the first film, if he HAD shot down the pod with R2D2 and C3PO they wouldnt have met luke, luke wouldnt have met ben, they wouldnt have met han and chewbacca and saved the princess and defeated the empire. scary when you think about it.

Just curious, where do you actually sign up to join a conspiracy? I'd like something interesting to put on my resume.

Well, thanks for clearing this up, but I never said any of this is true or I believe it.

sorry, I just get annoyed when people say this, even if they are joking, so I'd like to introduce you to this [http://www.cracked.com/article_15740_was-911-inside-job.html].

I'd say UFO's are probably real. The aliens probably think we're too stupid to bother making contact with. I can't blame them.
my dad always liked to point out that aliens had no reason to come to earth more than twice, once if they were mapping out the region, and a second time if they were going to introduce themselves. since the second hasn't happened, and the first could have but we don't know, why would they keep showing up?
You're going to take the word of a writer for cracked.com? Zeitgeist does NOT I repeat NOT, N-O-T suggest any conspiracy theories whatsoever. It presents evidence, and nothing more. It's up to YOU to decide for yourself. Wikicated, I'm sorry to be so harsh, but pull your head out of your ass, stop making assumptions and learn to type.
now there are several things wrong with your rebut. first and foremost, is the insult to my typing. there is a total of one thing wrong with my typing, I don't capitalize the first letter of the first word in a sentence, if that's such a huge deal to you, maybe you should take a chill pill and be a little less uptight.

secondly, not once did I mention Zeitgeist, I wouldn't stoop so low as to watch that move, however as a result of that I don't feel I have the authority to make any comments on its content. I have no time to explain why conspiracy theories are stupid, and I fell slightly ashamed in myself that I have to justify someone who wouldn't take an article on it's own merits, instead of being predisposed to rejection because of it's source.

lastly, and most importantly, did you even read the article in question? or did you see cracked.com and assume it had no value? because if you had you would have noticed it made no mention of the film Zeitgeist, it was talking about a film loose change, which does state that there was a conspiracy. you know who else does? the guy I quoted, I was rebutting his argument, I made no comment on Zeitgeist. Next time you feel like complaining about people complaining about Zeitgeist, do it to someone actually complaining about Zeitgeist.

oh, and Zeitgeist is a stupid name for a movie.
As far as the typing issue goes, I wasn't talking to you. And if you knew what Zeitgeist meant and actually took the time to watch it, then you might be of a different opinion. And yes I read the article, and no it didn't mention Zeitgeist, and I never said that it did. I would suggest you take your own advice before attacking someone else's opinion, and make sure you're addressing the right subject. Yes I was being harsh, but at least I can admit it.

And now, on with my life.
