Mine would be taking out 100 of heavly armed fighters with a sword and then dieing from 20 gun shots to the chest.

A hero, by definition, is valorous. Therefore, dying to save another is the most heroic way to die.
I agree. Dying killing others is brave, but dying to save lives is truly heroic.Flying-Emu said:
my favourite from a david gemmel book, basically it's on a clif face this giant man guy has been stabbed about 3-4 times, while the other hero's in the group are fighting the bad guys he takes kids to safety in like a cave thingy, gets sourounded by 2 bad guys, unarmed he just says "Did you know i once had wings" grabs them both by their throats and jumps of the cliff
