It was quite a while ago, but the ending of Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time got me. It wasn't really a sad ending, but after all the development between the Prince and Farah, her death was pretty sad, but it was sadder to me that after the time-reversal she didn't know about the adventure she and the Prince had been through and so the Prince just had to leave her.

Will people please start using
spoiler boxes
Many games have been ruined for me in the last few moments.
Mine would have to be
MGS4 when
Snake dies.

duh..when your horse falls of the cliff in shadow of the colousus.
Agreed.

Also, the ending of Twilight Princess really got me for some reason, with Midna breaking the mirror. I've been closer to the Zelda series my whole life, so, it makes sense.
I actually had that same reaction in TP, it was just really touching...

Oddly it was probably that one marine that you play as in Call of Duty 4. He doesn't talk at all, but I was totally expecting him to survive the nuclear blast somehow, and when he woke up in the aftermath of that shit, i tried to make him run and i heard his leg break which made me feel really bad for some reason lol.
Oh, dear God. I played through that part. Even KNOWING that that would happen, it still made feel really bad inside. Luckily, I guess I didn't hear that leg snap. I might've thrown up.

{ In Mass Effect, when Shepard convinces Saren to kill himself because sovereign is controlling him. I felt sorry for him. In his own misguided way, he was trying to help us. Only at the end did he realize the error of his ways, and even then, gave his life to try and stop sovereign}

If you notice phoenix downs revive a KO'd ally. Being impaled will not knock you out, it'll kill you.

My saddest part probably has to be:
When the main character dies.

Actually that COD4 section is awesome. Doesn't touch Homeworld for me but it is fantastic.

The end scene in MGS3 when Snake becomes Big Boss. The betrayal of EVA and his country forcing Big Boss to be disillusioned form everything he'd known, cared about and fought for... it moved me greatly.
