If he was above it, he simply wouldn't care, and he's clearly very invested in attempting to hurt others verbally.
Fucking failure of a wet sack of shit is what the guy is.

Even if not troll:

And what does one learn by crushing vag?

That you're doing it wrong, mainly. I don't see what he might have gained.

Sounds like your typical bar fight hyperbole stuff. Any more prodding and we'll find out he's worked for every company out there, makes a million dollars because he invented some super secret technology we all use, knows a variety of martial arts that could kill us all in seconds, and has women lining up to have Penthouse fantasy threesomes with him when he's not spending his very, very valuable time mentioning all of this to total strangers online.
Don't forget that he's an ex-special forces sniper and can find us and kills us without us ever knowing he was there.

OP: Troll. The guy is arguing on the internet which automatically contradicts his own stance. I found the forum and the braggart himself, most his posts are the same.

Also, I like the way that forum not only shows post counts, but an estimated post rate too. 6 posts per day... arguing on the internet. Mmm hmmm... sounds like a waste of time to me.

Wow. Looking over his post history... I found the perfect word to tag for his "attitude". Blowhard.

10\10 Would laugh again.

Seriously though, he is just trolling. Doesn't matter if it is his first or 1000th post. We all go little mad sometimes.

Towards the end his rant takes on... a actual point.

Briefly.

After my last relationship broke down, about a week ago, I suddenly realised that my social life was totally and utterly constructed around my girlfriend. I wanted to go out, get pissed, do something, ANYTHING, to alliviate the boredom and abject misery of sitting alone in my room.

And it was a right ***** to organize.

Cause every single one of my friends is a gamer. And every single one loves to fucking game. Its not bad, well not that bad, but I am slowly drifting away from the hobby and its making me think.

Am I socially awkward because I am socially awkward? Or did gaming make me that way, or at least help. Till I got to Uni I have been gaming for about 4 hours a day, minimum. Thanks to my gaming friends back home, the first time I went to a party I was 17. I remember that day, I fucking loved the party, even though I had no idea what to do, how to talk to people, how to dance.

Every weekend back home was playing WoW or WC3 whilst watching something shit, like Family Guy.

Go to a museum, see a play or band. Go out and meet people and do things that are so much more rewarding than whatever the fuck it is you do.
(I cannot tell if I quoted that properly, my computer is fucking up. I cannot press quote or preview. Just a heads up.)

I agree with that sentiment.

If for every 10 hours I spent playing WoW I spent practicing the piano, I would be grade 8 by now. If for every hundred hours playing a computer game, I spent an hour just going for a walk and meeting randoms, I would have met a lot of randoms.

I am a gamer. My hobby does bring my joy, sometimes.

But deep down I think a few of us, maybe not the majority, do agree with little bits of this guys point. Do think that, really, taking this stuff seriously is just a little bit pathetic. Do think that maybe, just maybe, we should spend less time gaming and more time doing ANYTHING else.

I look back on my life now and I wish I could take all the time I spent on WoW back. I wish I could take all the time I spent playing Rise of Nations instead of working for my GCSE's back, I wish I could take all the time I spent gaming instead of working during 6th form back.

For me, gaming has always been a symptom of other stuff. Depression, crap like that. At least that is what I thought before. In retrospect... It is both symptom and cause.

It sounds like you got severely trolled and went all the way to another forum to make a post about it.
You never really win when you're trolling, but you can cause other people to lose.

Clearly a troll and one the OP somehow got upset about enough to post a thread on a different forum about?
It's not about him. Troll or not, I still fear that many people actually do have this opinion about games. Same goes for racism, homophobia, misogyny and other types of bigotry. I am sorry for wasting our time.

All in all, why worry about them? You get to enjoy games, they're too busy worrying about their image to do so, that's a win for you by default, I reckon.
Because I get the feeling that this kind of attitude is way too common amongst politicians, businesspeople and other influential people, and will therefore do anything to minimize our favorite hobby.

All in all, why worry about bullies?
It's too common amongst politicians because they're fear mongers; they can easily snap up a few votes off of the masses if they capitalise on fears or hot topics.

Also the reason for the "if you're over 21 and still play games, your life is sad" argument is because unlike movies, or books, or music etc. games targeted children when the medium first began; most people judge it because of gaming's origins, and that's where that kind of attitude sprouts from.

But then again, most people are idiots.

This reminds me of a time some early-20's guy came into my GS and started browsing the 360 section. I came and asked if I could help him find anything, and the first response I hear out of the guy is (in a nice enough tone): "Nah, not really much into these things anymore. Once I started getting laid, didn't seem worth it".

Ignoring the obvious question "why are you here, then?", I told him the first thing that came to mind: "Who said you can't have both?" He never gave me a response. Just walked out.

Whether this is a troll or not, there certainly are people who think in similar ways out there. Your best bet is to just keep on doing what you like to do in your life. Why do anything else, yeah?

Couldn't work the chess in, sorry.

As someone who actually likes music, I can attest that that's complete shit. This petty ranking of music or art above anything else is fucking moronic and the most grating form of snobbery. Music is not fucking rewarding. There is nothing life-affirming about playing a fucking musical instrument. I speak from bitter experience.

Yeah, that's a one-sided view of things, but I'm fucking sick and fucking tired of people constantly preaching the untruth that learning how to play music is somehow the gateway to being 'worthy'. Enough that I've said 'fucking' about five times and I don't like to do that.

"Name one game that comes close to chess. Apples and oranges. Board games are fine."
Umm?
Whut?
There's a difference?

Well then I see my life is a waste, I'm just going to go off myself after I finish ya'know, the other stuff I do because gaming isn't the only thing in my life.

What a jerk, troll or not.

I think "crushing vag" is the worst euphemism ever. I can't really express this in words but it's just... Ew. It's just ew. I mean it sounds painful and if you were so heavy that you actually, literally crushed a gal's crotch area I imagine you wouldn't be having a massive amount of sex. I mean, I sort of get "pounding" as a term used, but crushing? Really? Does he like shatter her pelvis? Cause that isn't a good thing...

Now, I'm not saying the guy is a projective dickhead but he's a projective dickhead.

Hang on, I have Nicolas Cage gifs for this...

Right so he thinks gamers act like this:

And he can't...

But in truth he's being all like:

Because most gamers reading are like:

Or:

The guy also thinks he's all cool and sexy and that with him women are all like:

But really he's probably a dick that'd get punched in the mouth if he opened his mouth...

Ugh... threads like these make me wonder why people even bother to take anything on the internet seriously, and posts like those quoted in the OP make me want to take a shower. We've all seen this shit before, we don't need more threads about trolls like these.

Wait, why does chess get a free pass? Isn't it just as pathetic to pretend ordering knights and peasants around as a war waging monarch? Where's the real life applicability in that?

Cool story bro.

To all the people saying he's a troll and we should move on, this particular poster is most likely a troll. However the attitude about gamers do exist even if it's not this exaggerated.

As for my reaction towards the attitude, meh. This post wont hurt me in anyway, nor will thousands of people genuinely thinking along these lines. Gaming has been a sub culture, it has been blamed for murder and making us anti social. Well, it doesn't really bother me.

I find it hard to take anything this person is saying seriously, when the first sentence I read is "I'm too busy crushing vag".

Man, he's right. Ever since I was a teenager playing my Battletoads I've dreamt of crushing vag. Just all of the vag, being crushed at my heel.
If you want a picture of the future, imagine a boot stamping on a vag - forever.

Hey now, chill the fuck out (One).

I was just pointing out that I agree that a lot of gamers dont do enough. I mean, I was at a gig early this week and I am currently in the process of starting another band (I say another cause I have been in them before). I wasn't trying to say that gamers are all fucking lazy (Two), just that gaming can get in the way of living a happy life. And it has done for me.

Its the only bit of his bullshit rant about how fucking inferior we are (Three) that I can agree with. It is not a petty ranking about how music is superior to gaming or how gaming is inferior to anything else, it is simply a point that gamers do not do enough other then game (Some anyway). Whether or not you find music, playing or otherwise, rewarding is pretty inconsequential: For me playing and singing are two of the most worthwhile things I have ever done. Music is like poetry, rewarding and personal.

All I was trying to point out was that I wished I got out more and I know a lot of gamers are the same. I was trying to point out how sometimes if all of your friends are gamers it is fucking (Four) impossible to get them to do anything other then fucking (Five) game. And sometimes, no matter how much you love your hobby, you wished you had something else to do. Did something else.

Anything else.

From going to a fucking play (Six) or a goddam museum or even a fucking (Seven) gig.

I have a love hate relationship with gaming. I love gaming, its fun, some of the best moments of my life have taken place whilst gaming. But I game way too much, most of my friends are gamers who want to do little other then play games and I find that fucking pathetic (Eight).

If you were wondering, I was just counting up my own swears in response to your comment. I know its quite possible that you were not raging at me, just the thought that visiting museums, listening to some music or watching a play is superior to gaming.

EDIT:

Oh, and personally, I find playing music and going to gigs more rewarding then playing WoW, playing Rise of Nations or playing any game. At all. Ever.
