I think of a few stereotypes:
Moody cab drivers, mouthy punks and gangsters in suits, all of them eating bagels and saying "tomato, tamata".

Of course, it's probably really just a little foggy place with the parks serving as respite from all the cement and car exhaust, the people just as diverse as anywhere else.

Still, I don't know if I'd like it... all the tall buildings and cars.

I love NYC. It's dirty, dehumanizing and loud. But I've never had a bad time there.

Pastrami Sandwiches, Tribeca douchebags, Crazy cab drivers, 9/11, Donald Trump, Woody Allen, Empire State building, Statue of Liberty, Ellis island, Batman (seriously), Broadway musicals. But mostly the sandwiches.

It's already been mentioned, but "the capital of America".

I know it isn't, but I was young, and people spoke about it alot, so I just assumed.
