What Do You Usually Make Your RPG Characters Look Like?

I usually make light skinned, small blue eyed blond girls. Even though I'm a big and tall brown haired girl, I do have as pale skin as possible and bright blue eyes.

Sometimes I do make a brown or black haired woman, but I usually keep them short and skinny. Because I've always felt offput by being heavier and tall, and my ideal woman is short and cute and blonde.

Otherwise the face ends up similar to mine. Kind of a button nose and I prefer rounder cheeks, they're cuter than a sharp, narrow face.

I pretty much make my character somewhat similar to me. Granted the character doesn't look exactly like me but makin him asian with black eyes, black or brown short hair (black hair in real life but it would be cool if I had brown) and abit tanned looking will suffice for me.

Depends, on what type I am going to play.

For the hulking Fighter is going to be muscled like ARNOLD SCHWARZENEGGER.

For the silver tongued Rouge is going to be thin with an angular face, trying to look like a villain who both knows everything your going to do and has formed ten plans to beat it already.

For the Spell flingers, it's either Gandalf the Grey or a dark haired Amora the Enchantress.

I'm given to making male characters with mid length, usually messy hair, although it varies from time to time with the setting. Depending on the nature of the character, I'm known to give him a light beard, or to keep him clean shaven. The hair color is always dark, either black, brown, and occasionally dark blue. Sometimes I'll do the opposite and make it white if I'm feeling lazy. The eyes are always blue. Somewhere between "deep" and "icy", so that they aren't light, but they stand out in his design.

I'll always gravitate towards warrior classes. Swordsman, knights, the odd paladin or magic knight in an appropriate situation. In shooters/rpgs, I'm pretty up in the air. I played a Soldier all the way through Mass Effect, but I think I'm gonna be a Warlock when Destiny comes out.

Like other people are saying, it kinda depends on the concept I'm planning to play. My Shepard was a bald, grizzled soldier with a large facial scar (until it disappeared in 2) and some serious muscle. My first Skyrim character was a one-eyed Viking ************ with long hair and a big fuckoff axe, whereas my Wood Elf archer/rogue is a tiny lady who was more or less invisible.

As much as possible I like to make my characters into bookish-looking Daniel Jackson types, unassuming and often with glasses. Most particularly do I enjoy this look when the character I am playing is super smart and has mental powers. If I play a female character I usually do similar, though I might put a little more effort into attractiveness.

Essentially my ideal characters will all look like scientists or librarians. Fuck knows why :)

Depends on what I want the character to do.
Usually I will stumble upon some features or settings that make them look like a character with a similar role in another game or something and I'll try to mimic that.

Weirdly I find that female characters are usually the best one's to make. Not necessarily because of looks or anything (but that's a bonus) but because of female only armor that is either better or easier to obtain than male only equivalents, or male only wear does not exist. (i.e. Executioner Miralda's armor in Demon's Souls which is pretty close to the Old King's Armor statwise imo and the Berserkin in Dragon's Dogma with its high magic stat.) Or I won't be attacked by some female-only bandits or something.

I have a weird habbit of making my character as weak/innocent looking as possible, just cause I find it kinda fun when said character then owns everything. Usually this means a female character, as you can't really do that with males in most games.
If allowed, I like to make maybe a small girl wearing frilly dresses and stuff, but then min/max into strength or something so she will be in game wielding a giant hammer or something double her size.

Alternatively, I'd also make a big gruff guy with battle scars and muscles out the wazoo, but then make him a healer or min/max into magic if available.

If given the choice I make them represent my gender, skin tone(which 9/10 I can't), and body shape to the best extent.
As for facial features I simmply do what makes my character look cool.

I usually make them look like my girlfriend if possible . Shes a short plus sized woman . Dragons Dogma was the closest i got to making a character look just like her . And it was halarious seeing her die at the very begining of the game. My girlfriend was watching in shock. It was the funniest thing ever . I also give them her name , for more immersion i guess .

Also i take advantage of the fact in videogames women tend to dress skimpy , to be like : how come you don't dress like that .

Hehe that remeinded me of Anarchy Online, all those Atrox characters just to get the health boost, even though they were nano(magic) or stealth users.

Male, Caucasian, blond hair (almost always disheveled), with a weird eye color (though if they don't have a color slider, I usually go with green), try to make him look fancy (normally with a suit), and most, if not all, of the clothing colored white.

For me, it mostly comes down to what class I want them to be, but I also have a tendency to give at least some sort of a backstory for created characters--nothing remotely deep, mind you, simply "They're a young warrior who wants to become a knight" or "A noble thief who prefers to avoid fighting." From there, I generally piece together how I want them to look based on that idea.

For example, in Dragon's Dogma, I wanted my male Arisen to be a young spellcaster who wants to hone his skills and become more powerful. So obviously, I didn't make my Arisen be this towering, bulky, wall of a man. Instead, I made him young, shorter than average, have freckles and pasty skin, with long, stringy hair in a ponytail, and all around look kinda shrimpy.

Meanwhile, I saw my female Pawn as this war-hardered warrior who'd seen a lot of battles and wouldn't hesitate to cut something in half. So, naturally, I planned on making her be quite tall, very muscular, have nothing fancy done with her hair, no make-up, and bear a lot of scars. It definitely took a long time to make her compared to my Arisen (mostly because a lot of the options for a bulkier upper-body would make her chest be ridiculously wide and thick compared to her hips and legs), but I eventually came to a design I really liked.

I like to try to make them look like me; rounded face, average nose, white, slight German accent, fat...

So yeah, like me. If they're female, however, I tend to make them look like my sister; we look alike anyway.

I play as both male and female characters when I play an RPG, partially because I want to 100% every game I play, and, to me, 100% means experiencing virtually every situation a game has to offer. So offering a choice between genders is a big indicator that I'll replay it just to see what's different. (That being said, I'm still working on Fire Emblem: Awakening)

Male characters:
I try my best to make them look as close to me as possible. My general aesthetic is somewhat unconventional, so it can be difficult to get myself "just right". I usually rock an undercut, and most RPGs don't offer that kind of hairstyle in their customization process, so I just try to find something that's incredibly short on the sides while still having some length to them. I also try my best to match my skin tone. It's really frustrating to me when I can't match my skin. I have a round face as well, so I try not to give myself a chiseled or pointy face. I haven't had either kind of face since I entered college. I also give myself smaller eyes and a slightly larger nose if the options are given.

Female characters:
I base female characters also on me, but also with the genetics of the women in my family taken into consideration. They still rock the undercut when possible, but, of course, that's rare. Since I base these with the genetics of the family in mind, my female avatars tend to have it going on in the bust department while having slimmer hips than most people have. The face isn't too much different from what I use for male characters (small eyes, full lips), but the nose is "normal sized" and the face, while still round, isn't as round as the face I actually have.

I do this, sure, I COULD be a big burly manly man who gets into fisticuffs with other manly men. Or I could be a sweet innocent looking girl owning people ten times her size!

It is just much more impressive, and thereby it leaves me more satisfied. ^^
