Better melee combat system. Dark Messiah of Might and Magic nailed it. I wish more developers would look at what they did and learn from them.

I want PONIES!!!!

In all seriousness though: less bugs, improved combat, freakin' dragons, some more character creation options, [sub]and ponies.[/sub]

EDIT:

Guards that don't know where I am the moment I commit a crime would be nice.
Also this. So stupid that if I kill someone in one blow while inside their house the guards instantly know of it for some magical reason.

I wold like:

Fable 2's economic system, or something similar

Demon's Souls melee combat (albeit with less ball bustingly hard enemies)

A world that feels more alive, greater interactivity with your surroundings

Bigger, more impressive, more varied dungeons/caves/environments

Characters that are fleshed out, real and likable/not

People that look and act like people

A more engaging story, greater variety in missions (I don't want to have every one be a case of you turning up somewhere, say to pick up a loaf of bread, and finding it to overrun with bad guys)

Hah! I didn't realize that it was intentional.

Fun. Thats all I want. I just want the game to be fun. I'll accept its faults just as long as its fun.

I can only think of a few things that would outright improve the game that haven't already been confirmed/hinted at, a 3rd person camera that doesn't suck, a way to get rid of excess spells, having more of a sense that my actions and words actually matter, and if the character creator could be tweaked to include body options (height, weight, shoe size, that kinda thing) and make it so that my character's head won't look so stretched out when viewed from the side, that'd be great to.

Actually unique items in random dungeons. Maybe a Diablo style drop system where you get a chance for the chest in a random dungeon to drop some powerful unique item rather than a daedric plate with a little fire resist.

MORE VOICES! That, and dual weilding, more unarmed attacks, like kicking, maybe. Gore, and people who talk to you but not in fallout/elder scrolls 'fixed eye contact, this is our conversation' style.

Revamped combat, I mean the melee should feel as tight as condemned did and strive to find the perfect intersection of RPG and fps combat. If its too FPS there won't be much point in upgrading weapons, if it's to RPG you get that horrible awkwardness of shaving off hit points with no tangible feeling of combat.

It's like what I said about the feel of COD black ops Multiplayer vs single player, I dunno if its the audio or a vibration thing, but when you hit people in MP you can hear or feel it, but in single player there is nothing and it feels like you are fighting paper targets in droves.

I guess the last thing I want is hard to explain, I just want it to be good. I don't want to be disappointed by the game. I am just so tired of these multiyear hype machines and receiving crap that has been stripmined for content to be used as payed dlc.

I played Oblivion for about 600+ hours over multiple characters. In that 600+ hours I came to the realization that I didn't care about any of the NPC I interacted with. Barley any of them were relatable or noteworthy in any form or fashion. The ones who were had little character growth or means of interacting with them. Fallout 3 has this problem too. If Skyrim can inject some personality into it's NPC and make me feel some form empathy then I'll call the game a success.

The only Elder Scroll game I've played was Morrowind. While I loved exploring and really appreciated the lack of hand holding, it did result in a severe lack of direction and urgency. In Fallout 3 you at least have a clear objective, find your father! In Morrowind, well... you start out as a slave, but then you're told you're not anymore. A declaration immediatly followed by an order to go see some random dude in a town far away... To which my reaction was "fuck that dude, I'm a free man now!"

Also the combat, AKA the reason I stopped playing Morrowind after 6 hours.

Better archery and sneak damage, where you can actually pick your enemies off one by one.
Items that don't jump when you grab something on the table.
Actual moral choices, in oblivion you could join basically any faction or guild, regardless of what you had done previously. Also you couldn't join the rival faction/guild. It was kinda dissapointing.
Um...... yeah.
