Perhaps this is an engine related thing, but oh well.
The game should pre-load cells which it thinks you are likely to enter (If the PC has enough RAM to do so without lag). For example, if you are walking along a road, it should start loading up all the cells the road passes through while you are walking along. If you are doing a quest, it should pre-load all the areas for the quest.

I should also say that I hate ALL dwarfs from lord of the rings to Eragon and one of my favorite things about the elder scrolls is the stupid annoying little Scottish turds are out of it.
I'm aware that I'm the minority but dammit I HATE DWARFS!
You would enjoy playing dwarf fortress then, let your dwarves live in a pit full of vomit, blood, decaying corpses, carp and cats.

jiggle physics please.
And not the cheap kind you have to mod in.
High quality. Like DOA: Extreme Beach Volley Ball kind.

Ok, what do i really want to see? More weapons. You can never have enough. When i played oblivion((for what feels like years)), the number one thing i modded in were weapons. And lots of them.

And a better enchanting system. No more sparkly swords. If i put frost on my blade, i want it to look cold.

also maybe they can include more voice actors (although it got fixed in FO3)
Dual wielding (like a rouge)
and maybe improved graphics
I would also like to see more urbanized areas (like the impereal city)
and more arena,s
EDIT: and maybe some reffernces to other Betheshda products (like Vault Boy from FO3 apearing in a tavern or something like that)

The thing what has bothered me about both morrowind and oblivion is the 3rd person animation.
It doesnt look good, not then, not now.

Then again, it looks like it's ment to be from 1st person, and I gave up on 3rd person. But if the 3rd person spins around during a strong attack, wouldn't you think the first person should do that as well?

Just a quick thought.

Otherwise, the same long main story line as morrowind (as far as I recall it, it was friggen huge. Oblivion was rather... Short..)

The usual more voice actors and for the love of the nine divines, don't make a beggar sound like a sophisticated aristocrat once I ask him something about rumours. It doesnt make sense.

Also, I some sort of disagree on the combat. It's all up to you to use melee or magic. I thought magic did come in handy sometimes, I'm more of the sneak n stab. Melee does get kind of odd sometimes, when there are multiple people smashing you, you get staggered constantly. Or when fighting with some allies I always end up hitting THEM instead of the evil thing that needs a dose of steel to the chest.

Maybe something of a crafting system. That would be fun, and I don't mean alchemy (even though I thought it was kind of redundant. I'd stumble over mountains of potions. I stopped caring after I hit 200 potions =/ )

I'd love a more deeper approach like Morrowind gave. The Great Houses of have already been mentioned somewhere. And fast travel, while it does come in handy, I miss the time where I had to walk around and just.. Explore the world.

Some spells would be good to have back. Mark & Recall for example. I actually MISSED those spells more then any spell (I also count in levitate. Give back nao plox.). And I also missed the religions-type of guilds. LIke the priests in Balmora.

And I don't see what is wrong with the leveling system. Allthough I must say im thorough with leveling, usually with +5 in three stats hehe.

Anything else? Hmm.. I don't know. Maybe a coop if it is not to much to ask. I know of some genious who has attempted it and succeeded somewhat. But a couple of genious educated skilled designers can do it right?

I want to see so many things... not in the game.

1. Get rid of level scaling. The point of an RPG - Starting of weak and developing your character so that you are a bad ass. Not like Oblivion where at level 30 i still have to shoot a wolf with 50 arrows... retarded.

2. Get rid of fast travel. Make it like morrowind have some other mode of transport you have to pay to use. It increases immersion and believe me actually makes you walk around and find unexpected things... instead of constant loading screens.

3. Get rid of guiding arrows. How about like on morrowing give us a cool map with lots of detail and you have to use your brain to see where to go and work it out. Not just follow an arrow.

4. DON'T copy and paste dungeons 200 times...

5. DON'T give random thugs who attack you have the best armor/weapons in the game... How about putting them in special locations that rewards exploration.

Just a few thoughts... doubt Bethesda will do any of this they know people will just buy their game and they will make it dumbed down for all morons to play it.

Best advice make it more like Morrowind than Oblivion.

I will echo some things already mentioned:

- More voice actors (or at least vary the pitch or do SOMETHING about that monotony)
- No leveling monsters

Not sure if it has been mentioned, but I would be ecstatic if the "All Seeing Eye" was removed, i.e. if I am playing a mean old bad guy and decide to jack somebody in a cabin the middle of nowhere, the entire planet should not know about it as soon as I wander into town. One of the biggest immersion breakers I can think of.

Now that I think about it, the voice acting needs more than just variety. It needs logic; how many times have I just saved a freaking town from destruction or something and the townspeople still talk to me like they hate my guts or something.

I want my shitload of side quest like in number 4 and the ability to add more than one effect stranger than a tadpole to clothing and also better enchantments for weapons. A wider variety of weapons would be nicer to than just an upgrade from the standard bow, dagger, shortsword, longsword, claymore. like crossbows after a certain level and specialty swords of legend.

In all honesty, the thing I am looking for is a more engaging combat system.

Condemned 2 did First Person Combat decent enough, take a leaf out of their book.

Also, I've been wanting to see an actual weapon crafting system where you can make your own arms. It wouldn't be to hard to implement, have a simple crafting system at a work bench that works with the basics;
1) As you level up in Armor skill or something, you gain more knowledge and more customization options/ you find different styles of Craftsmanship as you explore dungeons and caves.

2.) Give simple options when making weapons. A sword for instance;
Have different hilt options, different blade options, different handguard options. While making it, allow the player to use different dyes and tints for the color of the sword.

3.) Have the player find different materials to make weapons out of.

And finally, give me a Damn reason to actually level up hand to hand.

I would enjoy some focus on eliminating bugs and a huge emphasis on overhauling the combat. Also, I would really like to see some more of the epic vistas of Oblivion rather than the flat, closed-in spaces of Fallout. Other than that, I'm happy with the franchise as a whole. One other thing, however: one of the reasons I loved Oblivion was because it had so much to do. Fallout, on the other hand, seemed to have only a small amount of activities due to the barren nature of the world. While this makes sense, I would still like to have loads of quests available in each town.

A couple other things. I want the story to focus more on the player character. Make it so you're the big hero this time around. In Oblivion it was the emperor's son who really saved the day. You just sorta found him. In Morrowind, you more or less became the dark elf Jesus. I want to be the nord Jesus this time around.

Also.

Get rid of the f@@#$ing female argonian (lizard people) boobs!!!! They're reptiles. They aren't mammals. They aren't supposed to have tits!!! The female argoninas in Morrowind didn't have boobs. Why add them in Oblivion? I don't care if it's what the fans wanted, or if it makes the in game book "The Lusty Argonian Maid" slightly less disturbing. There's just some things you don't do. Giving female reptile people boobs is one of them!

Open cities
Expanded Magic; More spell effects, more magic types

Necromancy guild

Non nerfed Two handed weapons

Real dmg stats (morrowind had weapons that did 120 base damage, oblivion weapons had stats like 6 dmg, as it was based moreso on your skill than the weapon, HOWEVER even if you suck, a daedric weapon from HELL should never do 14 dmg, no matter how much you suck at blades)

no stupid leveling of items and creatures, if an items good, its good whenever you find it, at whatever level
Bring back extra clothing/armor slots; right pauldron, glove, robe over armour, clothes under armour .etc

more guilds, and longer faction quest lines in general
oooh, lichdom! muhuhuhahahahaaa
heh no more ridiculous comments; every town guard: "look at the muscles on you" seriously, who says that?
lastly, add some interesting characters, with more to say than "i saw a mud crab yesterday...blah,. blah". Characters with depth; like Morte from planescape

I would like necromancy, but what I really want is a bit more variety, with the ability to do things in more than a few set ways, this is especially true for the Dark Brotherhood missions. Open cities would be good too.

What I want above all else is a rich, complex, and adult political and cultural landscape as seen in Morrowind. I would also like it to feel otherworldly and exotic again (shouldn't this just be a given?).
If it was this (minimal cliches), and they fixed the leveling system (level up mechanics AND no more auto leveling mobs), and they improved the combat, I might actually be able to enjoy a TES game like every one else describes them.
