I'm a real ale kinda guy :) used to drink spirits like it's water but after a few to many nights waking up miles away from anywhere you actually feeling like you've spent the last 12 hours havin the piss beaten outa you with sticks you start to question if its good for you

It's all about Stowford Press cider as a relaxed pub drink, with 'Pretty-much-anything-with-Amaretto' as my partying favourite. However, I have been known to order in Poteen every now and then. That stuff is lethal.

Beer, I'll drink pretty much every beer there is, except Radlers, can't stand infused beers. Wine ocaisonally, but only red. The only spirits I'll drink though is a gin and tonic. I love them on warm soummers days.

I'm a social drinker though I don't go to that many gatherings where people are drinking. When I do drink I'll go with Vodka usually mixed with something.

I don't drink nearly as much as I used to, but when I do, I like to go for either ales or bourbon. There are some good Belgian beers out there too.

Those once in a lifetime bottles of Sloe Gin, a drink that is so sweet it drowns out the horrific taste of Alcohol. That, or apple juice. I love apple juice.

The once a decade day I decide to actually drink alcohol, I go for Rum (and Coke.)
This, although I go out every Thursday. At first I was afraid of drinking but I never get smashed I just sip on a few rum and cokes and enjoy the conversation of good friends. Of course I always call a cab, I never drink and drive.

Mainly whisky, but other than that, stouts and draughts.

Last night I finished a 16 year old bottle of Lagavulin. I shed a tear. It's going to take a while and a lot of money until I get my hands on such an astounding whisky again. *sigh*

My poison is Ale, in england you get an incredible selection and they are usually in a pick and mix offer, where you get to taste some wide ranging flavours all of which are individual and quite delicious, they off set smoking quite well if you inhale any plant matter (tobacco, etc).

I can highly recommend trying Newcastle Brown as a mediator if you are used to beer/larger and if you are more of a spirits or wine connoisseur you may enjoy a Hobgoblin or an Otter.

Once you try you'll wonder why you wasted your time with any other alcoholic beverage

A pint of John Smiths just slides down my throat, but my favourite would be an ice cold bottle of Budweiser or Grolsch. I do enjoy a whiskey every now and then to finish the night off with.

I suppose I've become far too used to Scotland, I started reading down the list and was horrified at how many people "can't stand alcohol/spirits/etc." and then I remember "Ah yes, the rest of the world..."
To answer the question though, you really can't beat a good ale...or Glenkinchie, nothing like a light single malt to end the day.
